The Celebrations in Honor of Saint Onuphrius the Anchorite are the most anticipated event in the Sant'Onofrio district, a small village within the municipality of Alvito, in the province of Frosinone, southern Lazio. Sunday is the religious heart of the event:

The true gastronomic symbol of the festival is the Sagne e Fagioli Festival, now in its many-decades-long tradition. Sagne, a fresh hand-rolled pasta typical of southern Lazio, is served with a savory bean sauce according to the traditional peasant recipe of the Comino Valley. It is the moment when the district turns into one large communal table, where families, friends, and visitors gather around a simple yet identity-defining dish.
