Borgo di Bacco, the Carsoli wine festival
In the heart of the Marsica summer, the historic center of Carsoli, in the province of L'Aquila, lights up for one evening with the Borgo di Bacco – Food & Wine Fest. The ancient streets of the village, illuminated by warm lights, become a long food and wine trail dotted with stands, tasting counters, and refreshment corners: an invitation to stroll glass in hand through flavors, aromas, and music.
A journey through the wineries and flavors of Abruzzo
At the heart of the event is the pairing of wines with local cuisine. Along the route, you will find numerous food stations managed by the Pro Loco, festival committees, restaurateurs, and local farms, offering traditional Abruzzese and Marsican dishes: arrosticini and sausages, fried cod, pasta all'amatriciana and alla gricia, spelt soup, coratella, beans and sausage, bruschetta, and cheeses, as well as traditional desserts and local fried treats. Accompanying the food is a selection of labels—sparkling wines, wines from Abruzzo, the north, center, south, and the islands, as well as international and dessert wines—curated by a local wine shop.
Music, entertainment, and the village atmosphere
Borgo di Bacco is not just about taste: the evening is enlivened by live music and entertainment designed for all ages, in a festive atmosphere that involves both residents and visitors. It is the perfect opportunity to discover the most evocative corners of the ancient village of Carsoli, among alleys, small squares, and illuminated views.
A community event in Carsoli
The event is organized by the Pro Loco Carseoli, with the patronage of the Municipality of Carsoli, and is part of the summer calendar of events in the Marsica region of inland Abruzzo. More than just a festival, Borgo di Bacco is a moment of collective celebration where the community showcases its food and wine traditions and village life. Carsoli, the gateway to the Marsica region just a stone's throw from the border with Lazio, offers its guests an evening that combines fine wine, traditional cuisine, and the beauty of its historic center.
Borgo di Bacco — edition 2026
The dates and program for the 2026 edition of the Borgo di Bacco – Food & Wine Fest in Carsoli have not yet been announced. Based on previous editions, the event takes place in the summer, generally in August, along the streets of the historic center. How to get there
Carsoli is easily accessible via the A24 Rome–L'Aquila motorway (Carsoli–Oricola exit) and the state road. It is recommended to park in the areas outside the center and reach the village on foot.
Admission
