The Montonico village dresses up in Christmas magic in Val Fino
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Bisenti Christmas Market is the must-attend event that, during the Advent season, brings the characteristic historic center of Bisenti to life. This small village of just under two thousand inhabitants is nestled in the upper Val Fino valley, in the province of Teramo, at the northeastern foothills of the Gran Sasso. For one day, the medieval streets and squares of the town light up and fill with activities, workshops, music, and flavors, offering residents and visitors a total immersion in the magic of the holidays.
The route winds through the most beautiful corners of the village, where the colorful atmosphere typical of an ancient medieval town is still preserved, dominated by the surviving tower of the old walls and the Mother Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli. Along the itinerary, you will find the craft market, set up in Piazza Costantini by the Amores Cultural Association, and numerous themed areas designed for both adults and children.
Great emphasis is placed on typical festive gastronomy: artisanal hot chocolate, cookies, small pizzas and focaccias, roasted chestnuts, and the essential mulled wine accompany your stroll through the stalls, in a climate of conviviality that is the true hallmark of this village event.
Bisenti is best known for Montonico, the sparkling white wine that is celebrated every year on the first Sunday of October with the popular grape and wine re-enactment. The Christmas Market represents the other great community moment of the year, when the entire village in the Teramo hinterland gathers around its traditions to welcome Christmas in the spirit of hospitality and local craftsmanship. An opportunity to discover, in the setting of the most authentic Abruzzo, a small town rich in history, art, and flavors.
The 2026 edition of the Bisenti Christmas Market has not yet been officially confirmed. At the moment, neither the dates nor the final program have been published. In continuity with past editions, the event is expected to enliven the historic center of the Municipality of Bisenti, in Val Fino (province of Teramo), during the month of December, featuring a craft market, children's workshops, Santa's House, and Christmas culinary specialties. The program will be updated as soon as the organization announces the official details.
Bisenti is located in the upper Val Fino valley, in the province of Teramo. By car, it can be reached from the A14 motorway (Pescara Nord or Val Vibrata exit) and from the A24, continuing along the provincial roads of the hinterland; the nearest airport is Pescara. The events take place in the historic center, with parking available on the outskirts of the town.
Access to the market and entertainment in the historic center is generally free. Some tastings and gastronomic activities require payment at individual stalls.
Warm clothing is recommended: the event takes place outdoors, through the streets of the village, in the heart of the Abruzzese winter.
