The street artist festival of Brescello, in the heart of Bassa Reggiana
The BIF Festival is the event that every year, in spring, transforms the Parco Giovannino Guareschi in Brescello into a large open-air stage dedicated to street artists. In the green park, along the paths and in the spaces of the historic center, performances by jugglers, trapeze artists, comedians, and musicians take place, involving young and old in a widespread festive atmosphere. The event is promoted by the Incia Brixellum association with the patronage of the Municipality of Brescello, in the province of Reggio Emilia, in Emilia-Romagna.
The BIF formula focuses on live performance: comic unicycling, juggling, trapeze acts, fire shows, and musical moments alternate throughout the day. Alongside the performances, there are exhibitions, talks, and readings, in a program designed to accompany the public from morning to evening. The intimate setting of the park makes every performance accessible and up-close, ideal for those seeking an authentic experience away from large, crowded events.
The performances are complemented by handmade markets, featuring artisan creations and handmade objects. The convivial aspect is not forgotten: in the evening, you can dine with offerings curated by Auser, Protezione Civile, Nuova comunità di Ghiarole, and Oratorio San Genesio, true protagonists of local animation. Play areas and workshops are set up for the little ones, while bars and refreshment points are available throughout the event.
Visiting the BIF Festival is also an opportunity to discover Brescello, a small municipality in Bassa Reggiana on the Po River, universally known as the film set for the stories of Don Camillo and Peppone, created by Giovannino Guareschi. Between performances, you can visit the Guareschi landmarks, the museums dedicated to the saga, and the charming spots in the town center, in a blend of popular culture, tradition, and entertainment that makes this village festival unique.
The BIF Festival has free admission and is aimed at a wide audience: families, children, young people, and street art enthusiasts. The combination of performances, food, and village atmosphere makes it one of the most cherished events in the spring calendar of Brescello and the entire Terre di Po and Gonzaga area.
The fourth edition of the BIF Festival returned on May 23 and 24, 2026, to Parco Giovannino Guareschi in Brescello, confirming the event dedicated to street artists promoted by the Incia Brixellum association.
For 2026 as well, the festival combined performance, music, and art, with handmade markets and evening food stalls curated by local associations. A free event designed for families, children, and young people, in the heart of the town of Don Camillo and Peppone.
Two days dedicated to street artists, with juggling shows, trapeze acts, comedy, and musical moments spread throughout the day at Parco Giovannino Guareschi. Accompanying the performances were handmade markets and, in the evening, food stalls curated by Auser, Protezione Civile, Nuova comunità di Ghiarole, and Oratorio San Genesio. The detailed lineup and schedule for the fourth edition were announced by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event.
