About Barolo is Serralunga

Barolo is Serralunga is a tasting event in the heart of the Langhe that exclusively celebrates Barolo with the Serralunga d'Alba municipal designation. For two days, the village welcomes enthusiasts, professionals, and producers to taste the region's great reds, glass by glass, within the walls of the deconsecrated church of San Sebastiano. An event promoted by the Municipality and the Pro Loco to showcase the identity of one of Piedmont's most prestigious terroirs.

The Barolo of Serralunga takes center stage

In the rolling hills of the Langhe, a UNESCO World Heritage site, the small town of Serralunga d'Alba (Province of Cuneo) is one of the most celebrated areas for Barolo production. This great wine is the focus of the Barolo is Serralunga event, a tasting showcase dedicated exclusively to Barolo with the Serralunga d'Alba municipal designation.

Organized by the Municipality of Serralunga d'Alba in collaboration with the local Pro Loco, the event aims to promote the territory and create a meeting point for producers, wine lovers, and industry professionals. Over the years, the festival has become a highly anticipated appointment for those eager to discover the diverse expressions of Barolo born in the Serralunga hills.

A tasting showcase in the village

The heart of the event is the tasting area set up in the evocative deconsecrated church of San Sebastiano, in the village of Serralunga d'Alba. Here, visitors can sample wines from local wineries by purchasing tasting vouchers, choosing from various formats depending on how many glasses they wish to try.

Alongside the tastings, the event features a corner shop where you can purchase bottles from the participating producers, as well as educational sessions led by sommeliers and wine communication experts. The tasting is designed as a free-roaming experience, allowing guests to move between stands and engage directly with the producers themselves.

Between wine, art, and the land

More than just a wine fair, Barolo is Serralunga is an opportunity to experience the village and its landscape. Recent editions have enriched the program with art installations and performances, weaving wine culture with visual arts. A stroll through the village streets, with the medieval towers and the famous Castello di Serralunga in the background, completes the experience for those visiting the Langhe during this time of year.

Held at the end of May, the event is part of a calendar of food and wine festivals that bring Serralunga d'Alba and the entire Barolo area to life during the warmer months, confirming the region's commitment to hospitality and high-quality wine tourism.
