Flavors, crafts, and traditions at the foot of Castel Thun
Banceti Nostrani is an event dedicated to workshops, flavors, and local traditions held in Nosino, a small village in the Municipality of Ton, in Val di Non (Trentino-Alto Adige). The event takes place in a charming setting at the foot of the majestic Castel Thun, one of the most famous castles in Trentino, and aims to showcase typical products, local culture, and the ancient customs of the valley.
The initiative was born in 2023 thanks to the newly formed Pro Loco of Ton and has quickly established itself as one of the most anticipated spring events in the area. Since its first edition, the event has combined local craftsmanship with gastronomy, involving the community and collaborating with local entities such as the Municipality of Ton, the Tourist Board (APT), the Strada della Mela e dei Sapori delle Valli di Non e di Sole, and the Castello del Buonconsiglio.
The day kicks off in the morning with local artisan stalls—a true mini-expo of regional craftsmanship—accompanied by numerous workshops dedicated to traditional trades and skills. There is no shortage of tastings, including Trento DOC sparkling wine, craft beers, and local wines.
One of the most popular moments is the lunch with a traditional menu, which offers dishes from the peasant tradition of Val di Non: snails with polenta, tortei de patate (potato fritters), game with polenta, and a vegetarian alternative. The gastronomic offerings are paired with local products, from mead to mountain sparkling wines, in a journey of genuine flavors that tells the story of the territory's identity.
Beyond the food and wine, Banceti Nostrani offers the opportunity to discover the area's heritage with a guided tour of the church of San Martino and the chance to access Castel Thun at a discounted rate. The event is thus part of a broader effort to promote Val di Non, blending nature, history, and popular traditions in one of the most evocative landscapes in Trentino.
The 2026 edition of Banceti Nostrani was held on Sunday, May 24, 2026, in Nosino (Ton), at the foot of Castel Thun, starting at 8:30 AM. Once again, the Pro Loco of Ton brought the village to life with local artisan stalls and numerous workshops dedicated to regional traditions.
Highlights included tastings of Trento DOC sparkling wine, craft beers, and local wines, as well as a lunch with a traditional menu featuring choices such as snails with polenta, tortei de patate, game with polenta, and a vegetarian option. Participants also enjoyed reduced admission to Castel Thun and a free guided tour of the church of San Martino.
