About Bagnacavallo in a Glass

Bagnacavallo in a Glass is the new wine event that enlivens the heart of the small town in Bassa Romagna, in the province of Ravenna. For two days, the former Covered Market in Via Baracca transforms into a large, spread-out wine bar: over 500 labels from about forty Italian and European wineries, tasting counters, a food corner, and the chance to vote for your favorite wine. An event designed to explore, taste, and share wine culture in the middle of winter.

Wine takes center stage in the heart of Bagnacavallo

Bagnacavallo in a Glass is the wine event that brings wine to the heart of the town life of Bagnacavallo, an elegant village in Bassa Romagna, in the province of Ravenna, in Emilia-Romagna. The event, established in 2026, occupies the recently redeveloped spaces of the former Covered Market on Via Francesco Baracca for an entire winter weekend, a 1930s building brought back to life through urban regeneration.

Over 500 labels from Italy and Europe

The format is that of a large, spread-out wine bar: about forty exhibiting wineries offer over 500 labels from eleven Italian regions and three European countries: France, Germany, and Austria. Alongside major international names, from Champagnes to Burgundy wines, to Austrian and German Ice Wines, local excellences are featured, including wines from the Consorzio Il Bagnacavallo such as Bursôn and Rambëla.

  • Tasting counters with producers present in the hall
  • Food corner to accompany tastings with local flavors
  • Shop to purchase tasted bottles directly
  • Public voting to elect the favorite wine

An event to destigmatize tourism

The event, promoted by the business network Bagnacavallo fa Centro along with the Municipal Administration, was created with the stated goal of animating the historic center during a traditionally quieter period of the year and enhancing local agricultural and wine businesses. An economic and cultural driver intended to make Bagnacavallo a destination for wine enthusiasts from all over Romagna.

How the tasting works

Entry to the exhibition area is free: to taste the wines, you need to purchase a Wine Card, available online on the official website or directly on-site. The card includes a professional glass screen-printed with the town's coat of arms and its holder, and is offered in various packages, from a limited number of tastings to an unlimited version valid for one or both days.

Bagnacavallo in a Glass — edition 2026

The first edition of Bagnacavallo in a Glass took place on Saturday, January 31, and Sunday, February 1, 2026, in the former Covered Market on Via Baracca, attracting around a thousand visitors. Forty Italian and European wineries offered over 500 labels from eleven Italian regions and from France, Germany, and Austria, featuring tasting counters, a food corner, and voting for the favorite wine.

The inaugural edition of Bagnacavallo in a Glass enlivened the first weekend of tastings in the recently redeveloped former Covered Market. Over the two days, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, about a thousand enthusiasts visited the stands of the participating wineries.

Over 500 labels were on display from forty companies from Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Lombardy, Trentino-Alto Adige, Piedmont, Liguria, Emilia-Romagna, Marche, Tuscany, Puglia, and Sicily, as well as producers from France, Germany, and Austria. There was also space for local excellences from the Consorzio Il Bagnacavallo, with Bursôn and Rambëla. The event was a great success, with the professional glasses screen-printed with the town's coat of arms selling out quickly.
