The first of the four autumn festivals of Brisighella, dedicated to the pig and the Mora Romagnola
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Delicacies of the Pig, known to everyone as the Pig Festival, is one of the most beloved gastronomic events of the Romagna autumn. It takes place in the historic center of Brisighella, a medieval village nestled among the three hills of Monticino, Rocca, and Torre dell'Orologio, in the Municipality of Brisighella, Province of Ravenna (Emilia-Romagna). The event opens the cycle of the "4 Festivals for 3 Hills", four Sundays in November dedicated to the flavors of the land.
The festival evokes the ancient peasant ritual of pig processing, once a fundamental part of the economy of colonial homes in the Apennines. The protagonist is the Mora Romagnola, an ancient native dark-coated pig breed, recovered in recent decades and now a symbol of the gastronomic biodiversity of the area. Along the village streets, pork butchers prepare and offer the most typical specialties.
In addition to the food stalls, the day offers live music, entertainment for families, markets of local products, and the opportunity to stroll through one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, with the famous Via degli Asini (Donkey Street) and the evocative staircase leading up to the Manfrediana Fortress. The festival is organized by the Pro Loco of Brisighella and represents an excellent opportunity to discover the DOP Brisighella extra virgin olive oil and the food and wine of the Romagna hills.
The Pig Festival will return in autumn 2026 as the first stop of the four gastronomic Sundays in November in Brisighella. As tradition dictates, the historic center will host stalls from pork butchers with ciccioli, cured meats, and Mora Romagnola specialties, accompanied by music and markets.
Currently, the official 2026 date has not yet been confirmed by the Pro Loco of Brisighella: historically, the festival is held on one of the first Sundays in November.
