The truffle festival of the Faenza hills in the medieval village of Brisighella
In the heart of autumn, when the hills around Faenza yield their most precious fruits, the village of Brisighella, in the province of Ravenna, dresses up to celebrate His Majesty the Truffle. The event, organized by the Pro Loco of Brisighella, takes place on the third Sunday of November and is one of the most beloved events of the four autumn festivals that liven up the village throughout the month.
The absolute stars are the autumn white truffle and the black truffle from the Faenza hills, appreciated for their particularly intense aroma. From the early morning hours, the historic center fills with truffle stalls and local products, where enthusiasts and curious visitors can choose and buy these precious underground fungi directly from local truffle hunters and producers.
Brisighella, listed among The Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, offers a unique scenic setting. Visitors are welcomed by a historic center decorated for the festival, dominated by three famous rocky pinnacles on which stand the Rocca Manfrediana, the Clock Tower, and the Sanctuary of Monticino. The truffles are strategically displayed along the charming Via degli Asini, the ancient medieval covered street that is the symbol of the town, where the intoxicating aroma accompanies the stroll under the arcades.
The gastronomic heart of the day is the food stand in Via Fossa, which offers a themed menu entirely dedicated to truffles. Among the featured specialties of the festival:
Alongside the food offerings, the day is enlivened by music from the Banda del Passatore and a panoramic train connecting the hills to the historic center, as well as activities and entertainment designed for children.
His Majesty the Truffle is the third of the four Autumn Festivals organized by the Pro Loco on Sundays in November, along with the Pork Festival, the Volpina Pear Festival, and the Olive and Oil Festival. A culinary journey that tells the agricultural and gastronomic identity of this corner of Emilia-Romagna, featuring truffles, DOP extra virgin olive oil, and typical products from the Faenza hills. An ideal destination for those seeking an authentic experience in the heart of Romagna, amidst historic villages, seasonal flavors, and popular traditions.
The 2026 edition of His Majesty the Truffle is scheduled for the third Sunday of November in Brisighella (RA), continuing the tradition of the Pro Loco's four Autumn Festivals. The village will once again welcome the truffle market featuring white and black truffles from the Faenza hills, the food stand in Via Fossa, and partner restaurants with themed dishes.
The complete program, including times, menus, and related activities, will be released by the organizers closer to the event. For updated information, you can contact the Pro Loco of Brisighella at +39 0546 81166.
The day will unfold as per tradition: truffle market and exhibition in the historic center from the morning, food stand in Via Fossa with truffle dishes (tagliatelle, crostini, frittata) from 11:00 AM, live music by the Banda del Passatore, a panoramic train between the hills and the village, and entertainment for children. The official program for the 2026 edition will be published by the Pro Loco in the weeks before the festival.
