The independent music and culture festival in Savigliano
Atipico Festival is one of the most vibrant cultural realities in the town of Savigliano, in the province of Cuneo, in the heart of Piedmont. Launched in 2022 by the Fucos ODV Association, the operational arm of the Youth Council, the festival is entirely built and managed by a team of over thirty volunteers under 35. In just a few years, it has grown into a reference point for those who love live music, independent culture, and activism, attracting thousands of people from across the region to Savigliano.
Atipico's formula is multidisciplinary: alongside the concerts that bring the Via Alba Exhibition Area to life, the program offers in-depth talks, stand-up comedy shows, workshops, and moments of discussion on current affairs. Each edition revolves around a central theme that invites people to view reality from new perspectives, blending entertainment with reflection. The festival has successfully combined big names from the national scene with emerging projects, offering a valuable showcase for young artists.
One of the festival's hallmarks is its concrete focus on the environment and inclusion. Atipico eliminates single-use plastic by adopting reusable cups, provides free water dispensers, and manages waste sorting. Many events are free or affordably priced, a choice that reflects the desire to make culture accessible to everyone and to involve the entire Savigliano community.
The festival takes place across two main city spaces: the Ala Polifunzionale, overlooking Piazza del Popolo, which hosts indoor talks and shows, and the Via Alba Exhibition Area, which hosts the major evening outdoor concerts. Spreading the events between the town center and the exhibition district makes Atipico an opportunity to experience Savigliano in a new way, also involving local businesses.
With thousands of attendees at every edition, Atipico Festival has established itself as one of the most anticipated events of the summer season in the Cuneo area. Its success testifies to the ability of Savigliano's youth to build a high-quality event from the ground up, capable of speaking to a wide audience while maintaining deep roots in the local community and the values of sustainability and participation.
The fifth edition of Atipico Festival brought Savigliano to life from June 3 to 6, 2026, with the theme "Distorted Realities." The festival opened on Wednesday, June 3, at the Ala Polifunzionale with a talk by journalist and podcaster Pablo Trincia, moderated by Ilenia Arnolfo. On Thursday, June 4, the stand-up comedy evening featured Sandro Cappai, Antonio Piazza, and Giulia Cerruti.
The two major musical events were held at the Via Alba Exhibition Area: on Friday, June 5, a live performance by Venerus, accompanied by Ugo Crepa, VAEVA, Tom Newton, and Onion; on Saturday, June 6, the grand finale with The Bloody Beetroots, alongside España Circo Este, Eva Bloo, Funky Club Orchestra, Guelfi, and Steccio. The closing night was free admission with voluntary donations.
Savigliano is easily accessible by train: the station is on the Turin-Cuneo line and is well-connected. By car, the city is served by the main arteries of the Cuneo province; the nearest airports are Turin Caselle and Cuneo Levaldigi.
Many events have free admission or are affordably priced. Concert tickets are available on TicketOne and Eventbrite. For talks, free booking may be required on the atipico.org website.
The festival uses reusable cups and free water dispensers: bring your commitment to sustainability with you.
