A spring celebration in the heart of Monferrato

The Asparagus Fair is one of the most anticipated spring events in the town of Fubine Monferrato, located in the province of Alessandria, within the UNESCO World Heritage hills of Monferrato. For over half a century, this event, organized with passion by the Pro Loco of Fubine Monferrato, has celebrated the season's signature product: asparagus, the elegant king of the Piedmontese spring.

What to expect at the fair

For an entire day, the Campi Cerrina area becomes a hub for the local community and visitors arriving from all over Piedmont. Along the paths, you will find a variety of stalls where farming traditions and craftsmanship meet:

• Direct sales of freshly harvested asparagus and other local specialties;
• Food stalls serving asparagus-themed menus prepared by local volunteers and chefs;
• Craft markets featuring producers from the Monferrato area;
• Free bouncy castles for children, available throughout the day;
• Shuttle train to transport visitors between the various points of the event.

The infernot, Fubine's hidden treasure

One of the highlights that makes this fair special is the guided tours of the infernot, the unique underground cellars carved into the 'pietra da cantone' stone, typical of Monferrato and also protected by UNESCO. Throughout the day, guided tours are offered—sometimes enhanced by theatrical and storytelling moments—to discover these spaces where wine was once stored. It is the perfect opportunity to combine gastronomy with the rediscovery of the village's historical heritage.

The Asparagus Fair in Fubine is a true village festival: admission is free, the atmosphere is convivial, and the organization caters to families with children's menus, entertainment, and ample parking just a short walk from the event area.
