Aperitivo & Musik is a summer tradition that brings live music and conviviality to the heart of Caines (known in German as Kuens), the smallest municipality in South Tyrol. Nestled at an altitude of 592 meters at the gateway to the Passeier Valley, just six kilometers from Merano, the event is part of a series of summer evenings that enliven the valley's villages. Local venues and public spaces transform into meeting points where you can enjoy an aperitivo while listening to live music, all in the simple, warm atmosphere typical of mountain towns.

Atmosphere and setting

The charm of this evening lies in its intimate scale: no massive stages or overwhelming crowds, just a moment of outdoor sociality, surrounded by the scents of local cuisine and the panoramic view of the Texel Group (Gruppo di Tessa) that dominates the valley. Caines is a village of orchards, vineyards, and chestnut groves, where the alpine atmosphere blends with Mediterranean influences, thanks to the mild climate of the Merano area. In this setting, the aperitivo becomes the perfect excuse to slow down, meet people, and let the musicians' notes set the mood.

Those attending the event can take the opportunity to discover the small village and its treasures. The parish church, with its Romanesque origins, dates back to the 12th century and houses 14th-century frescoes and a 15th-century pointed arch portal. Not far away, the curious Tractor and Vespa Museum, housed at the Ungericht farm, features historic Porsche-Diesel tractors, vintage Vespas, and a collection of antique dolls. For those who enjoy walking, you can explore the Kuenser Waalweg, a path running along an ancient irrigation channel over six hundred years old, or sections of the Merano High Mountain Trail.
