The vintage tractor and rural tradition festival of the Saluzzo area, in Moretta
Antichi Trattori sotto il Monviso is the event that brings the town of Moretta to life every mid-June in the heart of the Saluzzo area, in the province of Cuneo. At the foot of Monviso, the "stone mountain" that serves as a symbol of Piedmont, the festival celebrates the region's agricultural history through the very machines that wrote its story: vintage tractors and historic agricultural equipment, lovingly restored and brought back to life for the occasion.
The heart of the festival is the former railway station area in Moretta, which transforms for a weekend into a bustling hub of exhibitions, workshops, and the aromas of street food. Parades of historic vehicles reach the town center, culminating in a showcase in Piazza Umberto I, where exhibitors are awarded prizes and the public can admire the restored tractors up close.
The program spans the entire weekend. Saturday is dedicated to the opening of the stands, Com.Art creative and educational workshops (covering bread-making, beekeeping, cake decorating, gardening, and cheesemaking), a children's play area, a market for agricultural spare parts and models, and equipment displays. In the late afternoon, the tractor parade heads toward Piazza Umberto I, while the evening is enlivened by a dance party. Sunday begins with a rally and parade of historic vehicles, followed by pony rides, equestrian shows, educational sessions, and a convivial lunch by reservation.
The festival is more than just nostalgia: thanks to a partnership with Agenform, the agri-food training agency, the event provides space for youth training, cheesemaking demonstrations, and the promotion of local dairy excellence. The event is linked to the cross-border Interreg Alcotra Transformation project, which highlights innovation and production traditions in the Alpine area between Italy and France.
The event is promoted by the Municipality of Moretta, Agenform, and the Associazione Trattori e Trattoristi di Murello, coordinated by the Fondazione Amleto Bertoni of Saluzzo with the support of the Com.Art Moretta merchants and artisans association. It is an event that unites institutions, schools, associations, and producers from southwestern Piedmont in one great town celebration.
Between the roar of vintage engines, workshops for the little ones, equestrian shows, and the flavors of street food, Antichi Trattori sotto il Monviso is the perfect opportunity to discover the rural soul of the Saluzzo area and spend an open-air weekend with the family, with a view of Monviso.
The 2026 edition, the third consecutive one, was held in the former railway station area of Moretta. On Saturday, starting at 10:00 AM, Com.Art workshops (bread-making, beekeeping, cake decorating, gardening, and cheesemaking) took place, along with a children's play area, an agricultural spare parts market, and vintage tractor displays. In the late afternoon at 6:00 PM, the tractor parade took place in Piazza Umberto I, followed at 9:00 PM by a dance party with the Loris Gallo orchestra. Sunday opened with a rally at 8:30 AM and a parade at 9:30 AM, featuring pony rides, equestrian shows, the graduation ceremony for former Agenform students, and a convivial lunch by reservation.

This is a family-friendly event with a children's play area and equestrian shows. We recommend comfortable clothing and, in case of sun, a hat and water.
