The great traditional autumn market of Bronzolo in the Bassa Atesina
The Annual Market, known in German as Jahresmarkt, is one of the most deeply rooted traditions of the municipality of Bronzolo/Branzoll, a wine-growing village in the Bassa Atesina just a few kilometers from Bolzano, in Trentino-Alto Adige. It is the town's major autumn market: for a full day, the streets of the center transform into a long succession of stalls, enlivening the town with a festive and convivial atmosphere.
Like many Jahrmärkte in South Tyrol, the Bronzolo annual market has its roots in the region's agricultural and commercial traditions. The stalls offer a varied assortment ranging from clothing to household goods, and from handicrafts to local products. There is no shortage of food stands, where you can savor South Tyrolean specialties such as speck, alpine cheeses, homemade bread, and seasonal desserts, all accompanied by local wines.
Bronzolo is a characteristic village in the Bassa Atesina, nestled along the Adige valley and surrounded by vineyards and orchards. The annual market represents an important moment in the life of the municipality, an opportunity for residents to meet and for visitors to discover the hospitality and flavors of this bilingual corner of Trentino-Alto Adige.
The Bronzolo event calendar includes several appointments throughout the year: in addition to the autumn annual market, the town hosts a spring market and the regular weekly Thursday market. However, the annual market remains the most anticipated event, capable of enlivening the entire center for a full day.
The Bronzolo Jahresmarkt is traditionally held in autumn, with continuous hours from morning until late afternoon. It is an ideal occasion to combine shopping among the stalls with a stroll through the village and a gastronomic stop to discover the flavors of the Bassa Atesina, in an authentic setting still strongly linked to the local customs of the bilingual community of Branzoll.
The Annual Market (Jahresmarkt) of Bronzolo/Branzoll returns on Sunday, October 18, 2026, with continuous hours from 08:00 to 17:00. For an entire day, the streets of the center will welcome the numerous stalls of the great autumn market of the Bassa Atesina.
Visitors will be able to stroll among the stands in search of clothing, household items, handicrafts, and local products, and stop at the food points to taste the seasonal South Tyrolean specialties. Admission is free.
