The market fair for traditional Alta Langa products in Murazzano
Anduma e Tas-Tuma is the market fair that transforms Murazzano into a showcase of the flavors and traditions of the Alta Langa as spring arrives. The name, in the Piedmontese dialect, plays on the invitation to go (anduma) and the tuma, the village's signature cheese. Organized by the Municipality of Murazzano in collaboration with the Pro Loco and the Langhe Sheep Breeders Association, the event takes place in Piazza Monsignor Dadone and the surrounding streets of the town center, in this corner of the Cuneo province overlooking the hills of Piedmont.
The heart of the fair is the Murazzano DOP, a historic Alta Langa cheese made from the milk of the Langhe sheep breed, either pure or with a small percentage of cow's milk. It is one of the oldest and rarest designations in the Piedmontese dairy landscape, linked to an indigenous sheep breed that is now quite rare. Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy tastings of the famous tuma di Murazzano and meet the producers directly, who share the hard work of those who keep this tradition alive.
A large area is dedicated to the livestock exhibition, featuring sheep, goats, cattle, donkeys, horses, and other farm animals that delight both adults and children. The educational farm offers live demonstrations specifically designed for children:
Stalls featuring typical Piedmontese products and local handicrafts line the streets: cheeses, cured meats, Langhe wines, honey, preserves, and local specialties. There is no shortage of food stands serving traditional dishes, from sandwiches with local cheeses to meat-based options, all paired with local wines. Music and entertainment accompany the day, making the fair a festive occasion for the entire community.
More than just a market, Anduma e Tas-Tuma is a moment when Murazzano and the entire Alta Langa showcase their peasant identity, rooted in pastures, cheeses, and handed-down knowledge. The event helps promote the Murazzano DOP and the Langhe sheep breed, supporting local farmers and attracting visitors and curious travelers from across the province of Cuneo and all of Piedmont.
On Sunday, April 26, 2026, Murazzano hosted a new edition of Anduma e Tas-Tuma, the market fair for typical Piedmontese products, organized by the Municipality together with the Pro Loco and the Langhe Sheep Breeders Association. From 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Piazza Monsignor Dadone and the town streets welcomed stalls of typical products and crafts, a livestock exhibition with sheep, cattle, and farm animals, and an educational farm with demonstrations of milking, shearing, and wool processing.
As per tradition, the star was the Murazzano DOP, with tastings and meetings with producers. There were also food stands with Alta Langa specialties and entertainment for families and visitors, in a day that confirmed the community's strong bond with its dairy and pastoral traditions.
The fair takes place on a Sunday in late April, from the morning (around 9:00 AM) until the late afternoon (around 6:00 PM).
