Summer nights in Andrian featuring music, theatre, and culture along the Wine Road
The Andrianer Sommernächte (Andrian Summer Nights) is a cultural festival that brings the small village of Andrian to life. Nestled at the foot of Mount Macaion along the famous Wine Road, just a short drive from Bolzano and Merano, it is one of South Tyrol's most picturesque spots. Throughout the summer, from mid-July to late August, the village transforms into a vibrant stage, offering a series of concerts, open-air theatre performances, and cultural events in the intimate, convivial atmosphere typical of the Oltradige area.
The festival offers a diverse range of genres and performances. Music takes centre stage, with evenings dedicated to both classical and contemporary repertoires. Recent highlights include performances by the conTakt percussion ensemble—founded in South Tyrol in 2007—which performed a memorable concert in the evocative setting of Villa Weinberg. The programme also features open-air theatre for all ages, such as the family-friendly production "Die Glücksforscher" held on the village Festplatz.
Events take place in two primary locations in Andrian: the Festplatz, the village's dedicated festival square, and Villa Weinberg, an elegant backdrop for chamber music concerts. Both venues capture the essence of a wine-growing village where culture, nature, and winemaking traditions thrive. Notably, Andrian is home to the Kellerei Andrian, the oldest wine cooperative in South Tyrol, founded in 1893.
With just over a thousand residents, Andrian is one of the smallest municipalities in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, in Trentino-Alto Adige. Its location on the Wine Road, surrounded by vineyards and apple orchards, makes it an ideal base for discovering the Oltradige and Merano regions. The Andrianer Sommernächte offer the perfect opportunity to experience the village after dark, combining cultural events with a stroll through the narrow streets or a tasting of local wines.
The festival is organized by the Andrian Tourist Board (Tourismusverein Andrian). The complete calendar of events, including dates, times, and guest artists, is published regularly on the official tourist board website and local information channels.
The Andrian summer festival returns in 2026 with its well-established format of evenings dedicated to music, open-air theatre, and culture. The opening is scheduled for Wednesday, July 15, 2026 (starting at 7:00 PM), with further events distributed throughout July and August at the Festplatz and Villa Weinberg.
While the start date is confirmed, the detailed programme for individual evenings—including guest artists, concert details, and times—will be announced by the Andrian Tourist Board in the weeks leading up to the event. We recommend checking the official village website for the latest updates.
Andrian is located along the South Tyrolean Wine Road, opposite Terlano, just a few minutes by car from Bolzano and Merano. By car: take the A22 motorway exit at Bolzano Sud, then follow signs for Merano/Wine Road. By train: use the Bolzano or Terlano-Andrian stations on the Bolzano-Merano line, with bus connections available to the village.
Events are primarily held at the Festplatz (festival square) and Villa Weinberg, both located in the centre of Andrian.
