Summer at Lago dell'Accesa: nature, music, and sustainability
In the heart of the Tuscan Maremma, just a few kilometers from Massa Marittima, Lago dell'Accesa is one of the most fascinating and delicate spots in the region: a karst lake fed by underground springs, surrounded by woods and included in the Natura 2000 network. Every summer, AncorAccesa comes to life around this small natural treasure—a festival promoted by the Municipality of Massa Marittima in partnership with the Il Melograno social cooperative and the Colline Metallifere National Park.
More than just a series of events, AncorAccesa is a journey designed to enhance and protect the lake area. The core idea is to combine entertainment with environmental stewardship: events are held with the utmost respect for the lake's ecosystem, inviting residents and visitors to experience Lago dell'Accesa mindfully. For this reason, organizers recommend using natural sunscreens and remind visitors of the site's protective regulations (no camping, no unleashed dogs, and no camper waste disposal).
From June 18 to August 26, 2026, the festival offers a diverse program suitable for all ages: live concerts ranging from West African rhythms to Mozambican sounds, photo exhibitions, performances, nature and Etruscan history workshops for children, and the ever-popular stargazing evenings. Many events are free and take place near the MeloSgrano area, which offers Tuscan street food curated by the Il Melograno cooperative and is open on weekends and daily during peak season.
A hamlet of the municipality of Massa Marittima, in the province of Grosseto, Lago dell'Accesa is also famous for its nearby Etruscan archaeological park and its crystal-clear waters, making it a beloved swimming destination in Tuscany. AncorAccesa was created to accompany lake-goers with a respectful cultural program that highlights the beauty and fragility of this corner of the Colline Metallifere. Between a sunrise concert, an aperitivo at sunset, and a night under the stars, the festival has become one of the most anticipated events of the Maremma summer.
The 2026 season of AncorAccesa takes place from June 18 to August 26 at Lago dell'Accesa, in Massa Marittima. The season and the MeloSgrano street food area open on Saturday, June 13, with weekends featuring lunches and activities leading up to daily operations in July and August. The program, shared by the Il Melograno cooperative and the Municipality of Massa Marittima, offers concerts, exhibitions, performances, and workshops focused on respecting the lake environment.
The full calendar, published on the official poster, includes further events for all ages throughout the season. For updated times and details, please check the channels of the Il Melograno cooperative and the Municipality of Massa Marittima.
