A festival of art, music, and ancestral culture nestled in the woods of the Valli di Lanzo
Ancestralia - Traves Folk Fest is an annual festival dedicated to art, music, culture, and ancestral traditions, with a special focus on the rediscovery of Celtic culture. It is held in Traves, a small village nestled in the woods of the Valli di Lanzo, in the Metropolitan City of Turin, Piedmont. For one weekend, the event transforms the village squares and spaces into a meeting place for sounds, knowledge, and nature.
Founded in 2025, the festival carries forward a cultural project that looks to the past to speak to the present: the dialogue between humanity and the land, the worship of sacred trees, and the agricultural and spiritual traditions of the alpine territory. The 2026 edition, the second, spans two days, expanding on the first edition's formula and confirming the festival's vocation to combine entertainment, education, and direct contact with the woodland environment surrounding Traves.
The strength of Ancestralia lies in its deep connection to the landscape: excursions accompanied by environmental guides, reconnection paths with nature, and the atmosphere of the mountain village make the festival an experience distinct from large folk gatherings. In Traves, Celtic culture is not just a show, but an opportunity to rediscover the value of the woods, seasonal rites, and the community memory of the Turin valleys.
Ancestralia - Traves Folk Fest is designed for those who love folk and world music, enthusiasts of Celtic traditions and culture, families, and anyone looking for an authentic, human-scale event. The natural setting of the Valli di Lanzo, the quality of the craft offerings, and the intensity of the evening shows make the festival a precious stop in the Piedmontese summer.
The 2026 edition of Ancestralia - Traves Folk Fest takes place over two days, Saturday, June 27 (3:00 PM - 12:00 AM) and Sunday, June 28 (10:00 AM - 8:00 PM), in Traves, Piedmont. The program confirms the festival's core elements: an ancestral tradition craft fair, a food area, folk concerts, fire shows, historical re-enactments, lectures, and workshops on Celtic culture. Guided excursions and forest bathing walks in the village woods are also planned, with mandatory booking.
The detailed artistic program and the 2026 concert line-up will be announced by the organizers closer to the event. For updates, please refer to the official channels of the Municipality of Traves and the festival organization.

Traves can be reached by car from Turin in about an hour, traveling up the Valli di Lanzo along the SP1; the village is just a few kilometers from Lanzo Torinese. By train, you can reach the Lanzo Torinese station, then continue by bus or car. The festival venues (Piazza dei Caduti, market area, and Carlo Fanton sports field) are within short walking distance of each other in the village center.
Saturday from 3:00 PM to midnight, Sunday from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
Guided excursions require mandatory booking. For information and contacts: [email protected] or the Municipality of Traves.
We recommend comfortable clothing and suitable shoes for walking in the woods. The event takes place primarily outdoors.
