The Italian majorette showcase at the PalaTerme in Montecatini Terme
The ANBIMA-MWF National Majorette Sport Championship is the benchmark event for the majorette discipline in Italy. Organized and promoted by ANBIMA APS Rete Associativa Nazionale in collaboration with the international MWF (Majorette World Federation) circuit, it gathers the country's top athletes and most established groups every year for two days of competition, performances, and awards.
Athletes compete in various categories and formations: soloists, duos, small ensembles, and groups, utilizing traditional equipment—batons, flags (batonflags), maces, and pom-poms. Competitions are divided by age groups: kids, cadets, juniors, seniors, and vintage, ensuring every level is celebrated, from the youngest beginners to the veterans.
For its eighth edition, the championship chooses the spa town setting of Montecatini Terme, located in the Province of Pistoia in Tuscany, taking place at the PalaTerme on Via Cimabue. The event is held under the patronage of the Municipality of Montecatini Terme and in collaboration with Eventi Pistoia. Over 800 majorettes organized into 36 groups will arrive from nine Italian regions: Emilia-Romagna, Lazio, Marche, Piedmont, Sicily, Tuscany, Trentino-Alto Adige, Umbria, and Veneto.
Majorettes combine choreography, technical precision, and showmanship: performances blend skillful equipment handling, group synchronicity, and elegant costuming. The championship is not just a competition, but a showcase that allows the most deserving athletes to qualify for European and international MWF circuit events.
For those visiting Tuscany in the spring, the National Majorette Championship is also a perfect opportunity to discover Montecatini Terme, a famous spa town nestled in the Valdinievole, known for its parks, Art Nouveau establishments, and the historic funicular that climbs to Montecatini Alto.
