The spring edition of the Algunder Bauernmarkt is an annual May appointment that transforms the Thalguter Culture House (Thalguterhaus) in Lagundo/Algund into a vibrant meeting point for lovers of authentic flavors. Lagundo is a charming garden village overlooking Merano, in the heart of the Burgraviato area of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano (South Tyrol). Thanks to its mild climate and varied altitudes, the region offers an extraordinary variety of agricultural products.

A gourmet stroll

Unlike the large autumn market dedicated to chestnuts, the spring edition is designed as a 'gourmet stroll': the producers' stalls invite you to discover, taste, and learn. What makes this event special is the direct connection with those who cultivate and produce. The farmers and artisans present do more than just sell: they are happy to share the history, production, and background of their creations, explaining cultivation techniques, harvesting methods, and processing.

Products from three altitude zones

The strength of the market lies in the quality of the agricultural specialties, grown across three different altitude zones with varying climatic conditions, which yield a surprising range of flavors. Among the stalls, you will find typical South Tyrolean farm products:

• seasonal fruit and vegetables;
• honey, jams, and preserves;
• bread and traditional baked goods;
• artisanal cheeses and dairy products;
• speck, cured meats, and sausages;
• juices, syrups, liqueurs, and spirits.

Tastings, music, and conviviality

The day is enlivened by tastings and a food stall where you can stop to enjoy local specialties, all accompanied by musical entertainment. A 'Going Green' event

The event is organized as a 'Going Green' initiative: it prioritizes high-quality regional products and encourages environmentally friendly mobility. Organizers invite the public to reach the Thalguterhaus on foot, by bicycle, or via public transport. The 'Lagundo Municipio' bus stop (lines 213, 235, 237) is just 100 meters away, while bicycle racks are available in Kirchplatz, and parking spaces reserved for people with disabilities are located at the town hall.
