The dawn run-walk in the Parco Dalla Chiesa of Collegno
The 5.60 San Lorenzo is one of the most beloved summer sporting events in Collegno, in the province of Turin, Piedmont. It is a non-competitive fun run open to everyone—from seasoned runners to casual walkers—winding along a 5.60-kilometer route (the unique distance that gives the event its name) entirely within the lush greenery of the Parco Generale Dalla Chiesa.
The defining feature of the 5.60 is its timing: the start takes place at dawn, around six in the morning, when the park is still wrapped in the cool air and the golden light of the rising sun. Running or walking at this time of day transforms a simple workout into an almost ritualistic experience, blending physical well-being, a connection with nature, and a sense of belonging to the city.
The event is organized by ASD Iride, a sports association specializing in Nordic walking, fitwalking, and wellness activities, in collaboration with the Municipality of Collegno and the San Lorenzo Association. It is an integral part of the San Lorenzo Patronal Feast, which brings a rich calendar of historical pageants, food tastings, concerts, and activities for all ages to Collegno every July.
A core value of the 5.60 is solidarity: all registration proceeds are donated to concrete community projects. In the 2025 edition, thanks to the contribution of over 200 participants, an automated external defibrillator was purchased and donated to the city, then installed at the Parco Dalla Chiesa kiosk to provide life-saving protection for one of Collegno's most popular spots.
The non-competitive format makes the 5.60 suitable for everyone: some tackle the 5.60 kilometers at a running pace, others choose fitwalking, and some simply stroll along with friends while enjoying the park at dawn. It is an event designed for families, athletes, and all Collegno residents who want to start their day in motion while contributing to a good cause.
A simple and genuine event that, edition after edition, has become a symbol of the bond between sport, community, and the local area in the heart of the Turin metropolitan belt.
The fourth edition of the 5.60 San Lorenzo will take place on Friday, July 17, 2026, in Collegno (Turin), confirmed in the Municipality's event calendar as the "IV Edition – Anno Domini 2026". The 5.60 km non-competitive run-walk will start, as per tradition, at dawn from the Parco Generale Dalla Chiesa, during the San Lorenzo Patronal Feast.
The organization is once again handled by ASD Iride in collaboration with the Municipality of Collegno and the San Lorenzo Association. The event remains open to everyone—runners and walkers alike—and maintains its spirit of sport and solidarity.
The detailed program for the 4th edition (precise meeting and start times, registration methods, and the 2026 charity cause) will be announced by ASD Iride in the weeks leading up to the event, as in previous years.
Based on the established format, the event includes:
The dawn start in the greenery of Parco Dalla Chiesa and the solidarity spirit of the event, which donates all proceeds to a charitable cause for the Collegno community every year.
Collegno is located west of Turin and is easily accessible by car from the ring road (Collegno exit) and via the Turin Metro (Line 1), which serves the city directly. The Parco Generale Dalla Chiesa is located in the Villa Rosa area.
Registration is handled via the online form on the ASD Iride website. For information: [email protected] or call +39 339 1949755 (Monica, in the evening).
Given the dawn start, we recommend arriving early to collect your race bib. Sportswear, running or walking shoes, and a water bottle are all you need to enjoy the 5.60 to the fullest.
