Hipporun: Running between Stupinigi and the Vinovo Racecourse

Hipporun is one of the most beloved road races in the Turin metropolitan area. Held annually on the first Sunday of October in Vinovo, it attracts over a thousand runners from across Piedmont and beyond. The event is organized by A.S.D. Podistica Torino with the support of the Municipality of Vinovo and the collaboration of the Vinovo Racecourse.

A unique route, between royal palace and racecourse

What makes Hipporun special is its course. The start is located behind the Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi, a UNESCO World Heritage masterpiece by Juvarra, while the finish line offers a dramatic finale on the track of the Vinovo Racecourse. The route is entirely paved, marked at every kilometer, measured and certified by FIDAL as a 'Category A' course. It winds through the streets and districts of Vinovo, Nichelino, Candiolo, and None, offering a flat and fast terrain that is ideal for those chasing a personal best.

Competitive race and fun run for all

The event features a competitive 10 km race recognized by FIDAL WA at a national level, which also serves as a stage for the Corripiemonte Regional Master Championship. Alongside the competitive race, a non-competitive fun run allows families and enthusiasts to enjoy the same course without the pressure of a clock. The registration fee includes a race bib, a technical shirt, refreshment stations along the route and at the finish, chip timing, bag storage, changing rooms, and a participation certificate.

Sport and solidarity

Hipporun has always had a charitable heart: a portion of the registration proceeds is donated to charity, most recently to the Fondazione Specchio dei Tempi. The event is the result of a collaboration between the Hippo Group, which manages the racecourse, local municipalities, and sports associations, all working together to promote the southern Turin area.

A traditional autumn appointment

Established in 2017, Hipporun has grown edition after edition to become a classic of the Piedmontese autumn running calendar, consistently attracting over a thousand finishers. The setting of the Vinovo Racecourse, increasingly a hub for sport, culture, and inclusion, enhances the race with entertainment and activities for the public.
