Ten days of music, conviviality, and Alpini values in the heart of the Val Sangone
In 2026, the Sangano Alpini Group reaches a significant milestone: forty-five years since its foundation. The local branch of the National Alpini Association (ANA), active since 1981, has always been a point of reference for this small town on the western outskirts of Turin, nestled at the entrance to the Val Sangone in Piedmont. To mark the occasion, the Sangano Alpini have organized a calendar of celebrations spanning ten days, from May 22 to 31, involving the entire community.
Since their inception, the Alpini of Sangano have distinguished themselves through their commitment to volunteering, social activities, and the promotion of Alpini values: solidarity, team spirit, attachment to the land, and memory. It is a legacy built on concrete actions and a constant presence, which has intertwined the life of the Group with that of the town, making this anniversary a heartfelt moment not only for members but for all the people of Sangano.
The celebrations combine a festive spirit with opportunities for gathering. The program alternates music, events, and social moments, following the best traditions of Alpini anniversaries, where dinners under the marquee, mountain songs, and sharing are just as important as the official rituals. The opening ceremony on Friday, May 22, features a performance by singer Marianna Lantieri, kicking off ten days dedicated to members, friends of the 'black feathers', and citizens.
More than just a group celebration, the anniversary of the Sangano Alpini is an event open to the entire town: a staple of the local calendar that complements other traditional events in the municipality, such as the historic Agricultural Fair. For those visiting the Province of Turin and the Val Sangone, it is an opportunity to discover an authentic mountain community and experience the spirit of one of the most deeply rooted associations in the Piedmont region.
