Piombino's summer of theatre, music, and star-studded performances under the stars
20Eventi is the festival that has defined the summer in Piombino, in the heart of the Val di Cornia (Livorno province), for several years. Created to enliven the warmer months with a rich and varied program, the festival is now one of the most anticipated events on the Tuscan coast, seamlessly blending theatre, music, comedy, and symphonic concerts into one grand season spread across the city.
The festival takes place in some of the region's most stunning locations. The heart of the event is the Pentagonal Courtyard of the Piombino Castle, an open-air theatre under the stars that hosts plays and recitals. Piazza Bovio, perched on a cliff edge overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, hosts the most spectacular and popular free-entry events. A recent addition to the festival is the Baratti Archaeological Park, a unique backdrop for major symphonic concerts amidst Etruscan history and nature.
The strength of 20Eventi lies in the quality of its program, which brings together prominent national figures every year. The theatre and comedy lineup features beloved performers, while the musical offerings range from jazz and singer-songwriter sets to classical music, including performances by the Orchestra della Toscana during the symphonic evenings in Baratti. A key section is dedicated to the Piombino European Jazz Festival, a festival-within-a-festival featuring free concerts.
20Eventi is promoted by the Municipality of Piombino and the Pro Loco Piombino, in collaboration with the Fondazione Toscana Spettacolo. The project aims to highlight the city's urban and scenic beauty, offering residents and the many tourists visiting the Etruscan Coast a high-quality, accessible, and widespread cultural experience.
More than just a season of shows, 20Eventi has become an essential part of Piombino's summer identity. Between the charm of the Castle, the blue of the gulf, and the Etruscan ruins of Baratti, the festival offers unforgettable evenings that combine great entertainment with the allure of the locations, confirming Piombino as one of the most vibrant cultural destinations on the Tuscan coast.
The sixth edition of 20Eventi takes place in Piombino from June 13th to August 8th, 2026, with shows generally starting at 9:00 PM. The festival is promoted by the Municipality of Piombino and the Pro Loco, in collaboration with the Fondazione Toscana Spettacolo, and is spread across the Pentagonal Courtyard of the Castle, Piazza Bovio, and the Baratti Archaeological Park.
The program alternates between major plays, comedy, singer-songwriter performances, jazz, and symphonic music, with a significant portion of events offering free admission.
