Zerodiciannove — Festival of Stories is the great reading celebration in Savona aimed at a very special audience: children and young people from birth up to 19 years old. The name itself encapsulates the idea of a journey that accompanies growth, from early childhood to adolescence, through the pleasure of reading and listening to stories.
A city that becomes a widespread bookstore
For four days, the festival animates schools, museums, libraries, and cultural spaces throughout the city with meetings, workshops, shows, and training sessions. The inauguration is traditionally a great moment of public celebration in Piazza Sisto IV, the heart of Savona's historic center, with storytelling, activities, and a book corner curated by local bookstores.
Promoters and cultural network
The festival is promoted by the Municipality of Savona as part of the "Città che legge" network, together with the Fondazione Museo della Ceramica di Savona ETS and with the support of the Fondazione De Mari. It is part of a broader educational infrastructure, "Città dell'Educazione" (City of Education), which dialogues between school, culture, and territory. A project that makes Savona, in the province of Savona, a laboratory on reading as a tool for growth and citizenship.
Zerodiciannove — edition 2026
The 4th edition of the Festival of Stories was held from May 2 to 5, 2026, on the theme "(Inner) Routes": a journey into the emotional and relational world of children and young people told through different languages. The festival confirmed its nature as a vertical path on reading, capable of speaking to every age group.
The inauguration, on Saturday, May 2nd at 3:00 PM in Piazza Sisto IV, opened four days of events spread throughout Savona, with storytelling, activities, and a book corner curated by the city's bookstores.
