The Castles of Finale Become a Stage
Estate nei Castelli is the festival that in 2026 will unite the three fortresses of Finale Ligure, in the province of Savona - Castel Gavone, Forte San Giovanni, and Castelfranco - in a single, widespread cultural programme for the first time. The ancient defensive structures become spaces for music, theatre, cinema, dance, and visual arts.
Three Fortresses, Three Souls
Castel Gavone hosts theatrical and archaeological experiences, with guided moonlight tours and costumed re-enactors, as well as wellness moments. Forte San Giovanni becomes a multifunctional space, with symphonic concerts of the Voxonus Festival, the open-air cinema CinemaForte, activities for families, and nature trails. Castelfranco focuses on contemporary art and wellness, with exhibitions, yoga and Pilates classes, and contemporary dance performances.
Heritage and Contemporary Culture
The strength of the festival lies in the dialogue between historical heritage and the languages of contemporary culture. The project involves national museums, cultural associations, and local realities, merging heritage conservation with current artistic expression.

Estate nei Castelli significantly enriches the cultural offerings of Finale Ligure, which already boasts a rich calendar of events. For the visitor, it is an opportunity to discover the city's fortresses by experiencing them as performance venues, set against the backdrop of the Finale landscape and the sea.
Summer in the Castles — edition 2026
For 2026, Estate nei Castelli offers a widespread programme across the three fortresses of Finale Ligure, from July to October. At Castel Gavone, there will be guided moonlight tours with costumed re-enactors and the theatrical performance Canterbury (August 2-6), freely adapted from Jean Anouilh. At Forte San Giovanni, there will be symphonic concerts of the Voxonus Festival (July 16 and 30), the open-air cinema CinemaForte, and activities for families. At Castelfranco, there will be the exhibitions Vibes and I Tarocchi, yoga and Pilates classes, and contemporary dance performances by the Balletto Teatro di Torino.

How to Get There
Finale Ligure is served by the Finale Ligure exit of the A10 motorway and by the train station. The fortresses are located in the immediate hinterland, reachable on foot or via paths from the village of Finalborgo.
