Two days of yoga, wellness, and culture at the Castello di Lombardia in Enna
The Yoga Day Festival is a major celebration of wellness and holistic disciplines that brings the Castello di Lombardia in Enna to life every June, coinciding with the International Day of Yoga. Organized by the Associazione Olistica APS with the patronage of the Municipality of Enna, the event has grown with each edition to become a benchmark for wellness in central Sicily.
The setting is the evocative Castello di Lombardia, one of the largest and most captivating medieval fortresses on the island and a symbol of Enna. For two days, its courtyards and historic spaces are transformed into areas dedicated to practice, listening, and connection. The festival is guided by the idea of an ecosystem that connects people, culture, and the land: a journey through diverse roots, cultures, and visions.
The program features over forty activities spread across two days. Highlights include:
Alongside the practices, the festival provides ample space for cultural encounters. The Kore University of Enna participates with a talk dedicated to the benefits of yoga, alongside book presentations and dialogues with authors. The program weaves together body, mind, and knowledge, designed for both long-time practitioners and those approaching these disciplines for the first time.
The Yoga Day Festival is much more than a sporting event: it is an opportunity for the community of Enna and all of central Sicily to gather, a moment where wellness becomes a shared experience in the open air, within one of the city's most iconic landmarks. Admission is free with membership, and a contribution is requested for individual sessions.
The 2026 edition of the Yoga Day Festival, the fourth, was themed "Resonances": an invitation to perceive the different aspects of life as unified to find true well-being. On Saturday, June 20 (from 8:00 AM) and Sunday, June 21 (from 7:00 AM), the Castello di Lombardia in Enna hosted over forty activities.
The program included yoga practices in various styles (Iyengar and Pranayama, Ashtanga, Hatha, Vinyasa, Kundalini, Ananda, Yoga Nidra, and Bhakti), bioenergetics, sound baths with gongs and harmonic bowls, workshops on the 5 Rhythms, and dance (pizzica, African dance, Indian Fusion with Barbara Lamia from CID UNESCO). Cultural meetings included a lecture by the Kore University of Enna on the benefits of yoga, dialogues on conscious nutrition with Silvia Consolo, meetings on parenting, and book presentations. There were also workshops, massages, a children's area, craft markets, and a food & beverage area.
