The festival of travel literature and reportage at Casa Pascoli
In the Municipality of San Mauro Pascoli, in the province of Forlì-Cesena, a new cultural event in Emilia-Romagna comes to life: the literary festival "Dove sei, mondo bello", dedicated to travel literature and reportage. The idea is simple and fascinating: to use books, journalism, and comics as compasses to explore the planet, telling stories of distant places, borders, cultures, and different geographies. An invitation to travel while sitting in the shade of a garden, guided by the voices of those who have crossed and described these worlds.
The festival chooses the Garden of Casa Pascoli, the home of the great poet Giovanni Pascoli, and the Parco Cento Comuni, where the morning events are held, as its beating heart. An intimate and symbolic setting: right here, in the Romagna land that nourished Pascoli's imagination, meetings alternate with moments of conviviality, with music by Enna Düsseldorf, food trucks with cuisines from around the world, and a travel bookstore curated by "I libri di Elena".
The program is curated by Matteo Cavezzali, a writer and former director of the ScrittuRa Festival in Ravenna, who brings his experience in organizing literary events that blend education, current affairs, and storytelling to San Mauro Pascoli. The festival is promoted by the Municipality of San Mauro Pascoli with the support of the Emilia-Romagna Region's Tourism Department, and is part of the Summer Sammaurese program.
The program brings together writers, journalists, linguists, cartoonists, and communicators: from the Swedish writer Björn Larsson, a master of maritime literature, to the reporter Annalisa Camilli, from cartoonists Igort and Chiara Raimondi to the presenter Syusy Blady, up to YouTubers and communicators like GeoPop and Nicola Jiang. Topics range from Dracula's Transylvania to the peculiarities of world languages, from Italian-Chinese cuisine to contemporary geopolitics.
All festival events are free admission, designed for a curious and cosmopolitan audience: families, travelers, readers, and reportage enthusiasts. "Dove sei, mondo bello" aims from its very first edition to be a new reference point for those who love to explore the world through stories, in one of the lands most cherished by Italian literature.
The very first edition of the festival, directed by Matteo Cavezzali, transformed San Mauro Pascoli into a meeting point for stories, cultures, and geographies from around the world. From Björn Larsson's North Sea to the peculiarities of languages, from Dracula's Transylvania to the cuisine between Italy and China, to contemporary geopolitics, the meetings followed one another from afternoon to evening in the garden of Casa Pascoli and during the mornings at Parco Cento Comuni. The event, promoted by the Municipality of San Mauro Pascoli with the support of the Emilia-Romagna Region, was free and enriched by music, international food trucks, and a travel bookstore.
Accompanying the meetings: live music with Enna Düsseldorf, food trucks with international cuisine, and the travel bookstore curated by "I libri di Elena".
