The Romagna stop of Elisabetta Sgarbi's travelling festival at Arena Rubicone
La Milanesiana is one of Italy's most prestigious travelling cultural festivals: conceived and directed by Elisabetta Sgarbi, since 1999 it has crossed dozens of Italian cities, intertwining literature, music, cinema, science, philosophy, art, theatre, law, and economics into a single grand thematic journey. Each edition revolves around a theme that serves as a common thread for over sixty events spread across multiple regions.
For several years, the festival has stopped in Gatteo Mare, a seaside district of the Municipality of Gatteo, in the heart of the Adriatic Riviera in the province of Forlì-Cesena. The evening takes place at the Arena Rubicone, the open-air venue that hosts concerts and events of the Summer Village during the summer. Here, La Milanesiana offers its characteristic format: an introductory dialogue with a prominent guest, followed by a concert, in an evening atmosphere that blends the cultural dimension with the relaxed climate of a Romagna holiday.
One of the most appreciated features of the Gatteo stop is free admission, by reservation subject to availability. This choice allows a wide and diverse audience—tourists, residents, and culture enthusiasts—to attend evenings with leading figures from the Italian scene, normally associated with major stages.
For Emilia-Romagna and the Riviera, La Milanesiana represents much more than a single concert: it is a prestigious event that places Gatteo Mare within a national cultural circuit, alongside cities like Milan, Pavia, Bergamo, Venaria Reale, and Viareggio. The evening at Arena Rubicone enhances the summer offerings of the coastline, combining quality entertainment and cultural reflection just a stone's throw from the sea.
The 2026 stop of La Milanesiana in Gatteo Mare is scheduled for Saturday, July 4, 2026, at 9:00 PM at the Arena Rubicone. The protagonist of the evening is Rita Pavone, with the talk titled "A Foot in the Past and a Straight, Open Gaze to the Future": a conversation with Mario Andreose, followed by a concert by the artist.
The event is part of the 27th edition of the travelling festival conceived and directed by Elisabetta Sgarbi, dedicated to the theme "Desire and Law." Admission is free with reservation, which can be made online starting June 21.
