The festival that kicks off the summer in Trappeto with music, craft beer, and seaside street food.
Welcome Back Summer is the summer festival that officially kicks off the season in Trappeto, a small seaside town in the Province of Palermo, Sicily, overlooking the Gulf of Castellammare. For an entire weekend, the village transforms into a large, open-air stage: music, aromas, colors, and crowds bring Piazza Scaro, Piazza Umberto I, Piazza Marina, and the Scaro Marittimo to life, offering locals and visitors an authentic Sicilian-style summer opening celebration.
The event's formula blends gastronomy, entertainment, and culture. The heart of the experience is the food area with live cooking shows and the Craft Beer Festival hosted by the Bruno Ribadi craft brewery, while the musical lineup alternates between DJ sets, live concerts, and performances spanning from the town squares to the waterfront and the historic center. The participatory spirit is highlighted by the Music Festival, hosted in the evocative Council Chamber of the Town Hall, alongside moments for enthusiasts, such as the motorcycle and bicycle rally at the Scaro Marittimo.
Welcome Back Summer is born from the collaboration between the Municipality of Trappeto, the Tridente Association, the Pro Loco Trappetum Cannamelarum, and local businesses. The stated goal is to promote the village and its squares, engaging the many young people and families who fill the evenings with positive energy. Admission is free to all areas and musical performances, in keeping with the popular and welcoming spirit of the event.
Overlooking the sea between Palermo and Trapani, Trappeto is a fishing village with ancient roots, also linked to the memory of Danilo Dolci. The Scaro Marittimo, with its boats and small harbor, serves as the natural backdrop for a festival that combines the sea, music, and conviviality. Today, Welcome Back Summer is one of the key events opening the summer calendar on the Palermo coast, anticipating a season full of initiatives.
