Three days of music, tournaments, art, and flavors in the heart of the Canavese region
In the heart of the Canavese region, just a few kilometers from Rivarolo Canavese and the Turin plains, the small town of Lusigliè (Metropolitan City of Turin, Piedmont) celebrates its Water Festival every year at the end of May. Now in its 14th edition in 2026, the event is organized by Pro Loco Lusigliè APS with the support of the municipality and has become a landmark for local residents and neighboring villages.
The program spans three days and maintains the successful formula that has made this event popular. Mornings and afternoons are dedicated to sports tournaments on the village field: green volley and padel tennis for adults, and dodgeball for the younger ones. There is also the historic challenge between the Pro Loco associations of the neighboring Canavese towns, a moment of healthy competition and friendship between communities.
The evenings are enlivened by live concerts, bands, and dance parties with mobile DJs, while the Food Pavilion serves rustic dinners featuring traditional Piedmontese dishes, creating a festive atmosphere that attracts numerous visitors every year.
A distinctive feature of the festival is its connection to the theme of water, celebrated through the "H2O, water becomes art" competition. Painters and enthusiasts are invited to freely interpret the water resource in all its forms: the works, with a maximum size of 50x70 cm and created using any technique, are exhibited in the municipal hall on Via Cavour. The awards ceremony concludes the event, transforming Lusigliè for a weekend into a space dedicated to art and sustainability.
The final day is reserved for the exhibition of artisanal products, vintage vehicles, and curiosities along the streets of the town center, an opportunity to discover the identity of the village and the flavors of the Canavese. The Water Festival is thus much more than just a food fair: it is a moment of gathering that promotes volunteering, popular traditions, and the life of a small community in the province of Turin.
Lusigliè is located in the Canavese area, in the province of Turin. By car, take the A5 Turin-Aosta motorway, exit at Scarmagno or San Giorgio Canavese, then follow local roads; it is about 40 minutes from Turin. The most convenient train station is Rivarolo Canavese, connected to Turin by the SFM (Metropolitan Railway Service) line.
Access to the event and activities is free. The Food Pavilion offers paid dinners with traditional menus; reservations are recommended for the main evenings.
During the festival, traffic diversions are planned in the town center. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing for outdoor sports activities and following the Pro Loco Lusigliè social media channels for the detailed program and schedules.
