The Waldfest of the Nova Ponente Firefighters

Every summer, the festival grounds (Festplatz) of Deutschnofen/Nova Ponente, in the heart of the Eggental plateau in the province of Bolzano, come alive with the Waldfest of the Freiwillige Feuerwehr, the historic country festival organized by the local volunteer fire brigade. It is one of the most cherished events of the South Tyrolean summer, a time when the entire community gathers to support their firefighters and spend two days in a convivial atmosphere.

A local tradition in the heart of South Tyrol

True to tradition, the festival spans an entire weekend, from Saturday to Sunday, featuring a quintessential South Tyrolean atmosphere. Under the marquees of the Festplatz, you will always find excellent Tyrolean cuisine, draft beer, homemade desserts, and live music that keeps guests entertained until late. The event is designed for families, hikers, and tourists vacationing on the plateau, yet it remains, first and foremost, a celebration deeply rooted in village life.
