About Waiting for Summer

In the ancient village of Villa, just outside Verzuolo (province of Cuneo, Piedmont), the Pro Loco Villa kicks off the summer season with "Waiting for Summer". This edition, dedicated to the Wellness Weekend, transforms the Castle Park into a sanctuary of rejuvenation: holistic treatments, yoga sessions, sound baths, and Tibetan singing bowls alternate with special openings of the manor and the parish church, guided tours, and Piedmontese cuisine served in the park. It is a unique opportunity to rediscover a charming corner of the Saluzzo area, blending relaxation, culture, and conviviality.

A wellness weekend in the village of Villa

A stone's throw from the center of Verzuolo, in the heart of the Saluzzo area (province of Cuneo, Piedmont), the ancient village of Villa welcomes the Waiting for Summer festival at the start of every summer, organized by the Pro Loco Villa di Verzuolo. The edition dedicated to the Wellness Weekend focuses on the regeneration of body and spirit, transforming the Park and the Castle into a space where you can slow down, take care of yourself, and rediscover the beauty of a place steeped in history.

Wellness and regeneration

The heart of the event is a day entirely dedicated to wellness. In the Castle Park, you will find holistic treatments such as massages, reflexology, reiki, and Tibetan singing bowls, while outdoor yoga sessions and sound baths guide visitors on a path of relaxation, immersed in the greenery and tranquility of the village.

  • Holistic treatments: massages, reflexology, reiki, and Tibetan singing bowls
  • Yoga at the Castle, with multiple sessions throughout the day
  • Sound baths and meditation moments
  • Supervised kids' area for families

Culture and heritage

Waiting for Summer is also an opportunity to discover the Castle of Verzuolo and the surrounding village. During the event, guided tours of the manor and special openings of the ancient parish church are planned in collaboration with local cultural associations. A walk through the historic walls allows you to appreciate a heritage often little-known even to the residents of Verzuolo.

Piedmontese cuisine and conviviality

Gastronomic tradition is not to be missed: the Merenda Sinoira (traditional Piedmontese afternoon snack/aperitif) and the lunches and dinners served in the park offer the authentic flavors of Piedmontese cuisine, accompanied by local folklore tales. The evenings come alive with ballo liscio (traditional ballroom dancing) and themed parties, in a festive atmosphere that brings together residents and visitors.

Towards the Agnolotto Festival

Waiting for Summer inaugurates the Pro Loco Villa's event season, which continues in the following weeks with the famous Agnolotto Festival and the "Camina e Mangia a la Vila ed Versol" food and wine walk. A calendar that makes Villa di Verzuolo a reference point for the Saluzzo summer, combining wellness, tradition, and good food.

How to experience the event

The events take place mainly in the Castle Park and the village of Villa. A free shuttle service connects Piazza Willy Burgo to the Castle, making access easy for those arriving from out of town. Reservations for meals and treatments are recommended through the Pro Loco.
