About VinAppia & Sound

VinAppia & Sound is the food, wine, and music festival of the Appian Way Regional Park that brings the Cartiera Latina in Rome to life every spring. For three days, wines from the park's farms meet live music, featuring public tasting stands, producer-led tastings, direct bottle sales, and a market of local products under the 'Natura in Campo' label. Free sunset concerts complete a sensory journey through wine, nature, and music along the ancient Appian Way.

A toast among the ruins of the Appian Way

VinAppia & Sound is the spring event that the Appian Way Regional Park dedicates to its own wine excellence, in the heart of one of the most famous landscapes in Rome and the Lazio region. The event takes place at the Cartiera Latina, a historic complex overlooking the Appian Way, transformed for three days into a sprawling lounge where wine meets live music, local produce, and the park's biodiversity.

The Park's wines take center stage

The common thread is the wine produced by the farms cultivating within the protected area. Tasting stands remain open to the public for the duration of the event: visitors can sample labels directly from the producers, learn about native grape varieties, volcanic soils, and organic practices, and purchase bottles directly. Alongside open tastings, each day offers limited-capacity guided tastings (for a small group of participants) by reservation, allowing for a deeper exploration of the host wineries.

Music at sunset

What sets VinAppia apart from a simple wine fair is its musical soul: every afternoon and evening, free concerts accompany the glasses. The lineup ranges from American-inspired rock'n'roll to tango with a public milonga, and from brass bands to jazz ensembles, in a continuous dialogue between diverse sounds and the aromas of local wines.

The market and local products

The experience is completed by the local products market, featuring park farms and producers displaying the 'Natura in Campo' label: honey, vegetables, preserves, cheeses, and other zero-mile delicacies. It is a tangible opportunity to support quality agriculture that coexists with the archaeological heritage of the Appian Way.

A journey through wine, nature, and archaeology

Set along the Regina Viarum, VinAppia & Sound offers a small sensory itinerary that combines food, wine, environment, and culture. Strolling between the stands with a glass in hand, just steps from the monuments and the greenery of the park, is the most authentic way to discover how the Roman countryside continues to produce fine wine just a stone's throw from the center of the Capital.
