Rome's premier summer jazz festival amidst the city's iconic monuments
Jazz&Image is one of the most beloved musical events of the Roman summer. Born from the experience of the historic Alexanderplatz jazz club, the festival transforms one of the capital's monumental corners into a grand open-air stage every year, offering dozens of free-entry evenings dedicated to jazz and world music. Located in the city of Rome, in the Lazio region, the festival has become a staple for both locals and tourists seeking a cultural experience under the stars.
After years spent in the greenery of the Parco del Celio with a view of the Colosseum, the 2026 edition marks a major change: the festival moves to the Baths of Caracalla, one of the most spectacular archaeological complexes in the world. Amidst the imposing ruins of the ancient thermal baths, the festival offers a packed schedule from June 21 to August 16, 2026, with concerts almost every night and dance parties until late.
The artistic direction, entrusted to Alexanderplatz's Eugenio Rubei in synergy with Pride Croisette, has curated a calendar that spans diverse genres and styles. Alongside jazz concerts, there are blues nights, orchestras and big bands, Brazilian music, and new trends.
Jazz&Image is not just about music: the festival offers weekend brunches with the participation of local music schools, aperitifs, and dinners with quality products at affordable prices, as well as late-night dance parties. It is an experience designed to enjoy the entire evening in one of Rome's most beautiful settings, combining great music, conviviality, and the magic of an archaeological site illuminated at sunset.
With its free-entry formula and high-quality programming, Jazz&Image represents one of the most successful examples of how Rome can enhance its historical heritage through contemporary culture. The Baths of Caracalla, already home to major opera and symphonic events, now welcome jazz, confirming the Lazio region's role as a crossroads for great live music.
The new edition, directed by Alexanderplatz's Eugenio Rubei in synergy with Pride Croisette, offers an almost daily schedule from June 21 to August 16, 2026. The opening is entrusted to the swing orchestra The Redcats, followed by the Roda de Samba and a long series of blues nights with Italian bands. Throughout July and August, projects of Italian and international jazz, orchestras, and big bands will alternate, featuring names like Rosario Giuliani, Cinzia Tedesco, Susanna Stivali, and foreign guests. The grand finale for Ferragosto is entrusted to Javier Girotto & Aires Tango.
The Baths of Caracalla are located on Viale delle Terme di Caracalla, Rome. By metro: Line B, Circo Massimo stop, then a few minutes' walk. By bus: numerous lines serve the Circo Massimo and Aventine area.
Admission to the concerts is free. For certain evenings and catering services, booking is recommended through the organization (tel. +39 349 9770309, [email protected]).
We recommend arriving early to secure a good spot and checking the official website jazzimage.it for the updated program and individual evening schedules.
