Wine, craftsmanship, and music through the alleys of the historic center of Supersano, in the heart of Salento
Vicoli Vivi is the food, wine, cultural, and musical festival that every summer brings life back to the historic center of Supersano, a village in the Salento hinterland in the Province of Lecce, Puglia. The concept is simple yet captivating: restoring the role of meeting place to the village's alleys, courtyards, and small squares, transforming them for a few July nights into a grand itinerary of taste, craftsmanship, and entertainment. Organized by the Pro Loco Supersano, the event has grown with each edition to become one of the most anticipated appointments of the Salento summer.
The heart of Vicoli Vivi is a true journey into the flavors of the territory. At the entrance, every visitor receives a personalized wine glass and a pouch to begin the tasting journey that winds through the alleys of the historic center. Along the way, you will encounter over twenty Apulian wineries, with more than eighty labels to sample, accompanied by small-scale producers, masters of taste, and farm-to-table street food that tells the story of Salento and Mediterranean cuisine. An entire street is dedicated to the region's wine excellence, in a continuous dialogue between winemakers, food artisans, and the public.
Alongside food and wine, Vicoli Vivi gives space to craftsmanship and culture. Within the walls of the historic center, you will find the workshops of master artisans, who display and create their works live, alongside exhibitions, installations, and in-depth sessions. The common thread of recent editions is the theme of Future Traditions, an invitation to combine memory and innovation to build more conscious and hospitable communities, where the enhancement of local heritage also becomes an opportunity for urban regeneration and sustainable food tourism.
Every evening ignites with live music, ranging from Salento's pizzica and taranta to reggae, folk, and DJ sets. Past editions have featured names from the Salento music scene, capable of making squares and alleys dance until late at night. Folk music, with its tambourines and traditional circles, remains one of the festival's core identities and one of the main reasons visitors flock from all over Puglia.
Located inland, just a few kilometers from the Ionian and Adriatic coasts, the Municipality of Supersano preserves the intimate atmosphere of Salento villages, with its stone houses, courtyards, and central square. Vicoli Vivi is also a way to discover this authentic corner of Salento, far from the most crowded circuits, and to experience Apulian hospitality in an intimate and convivial setting. An experience that combines good wine, genuine flavors, music, and community in one of the most evocative summer nights in the Province of Lecce.
The sixth edition of Vicoli Vivi spans three evenings, July 17, 24, and 25, 2026, confirming the formula that made the festival famous: the tasting route with a personalized glass through the alleys of the historic center of Supersano, over twenty Apulian wineries, craft stands, and farm-to-table street food. On the musical front, the Pro Loco has announced the concert by Antonio Castrignanò with the AC & Taranta Sounds project, scheduled for July 24, bringing the energy of Salento's pizzica and taranta to the alleys. The full lineup, including other evenings, concerts, and the list of participating wineries, is updated on the festival's official website and social media channels.
Supersano is located in the Salento hinterland, in the Province of Lecce. By car, it can be reached via the SS275 (Maglie-Santa Maria di Leuca), taking the exit for Supersano. The most convenient train stations are those of the Ferrovie del Sud Est in the neighboring towns (Casarano, Ruffano); from Lecce, it is about a 45-minute drive. The reference airport is Brindisi-Salento.
Access to the food and wine itinerary requires a tasting kit with a personalized glass. Details on prices, pre-sales, and the full program are published on the official website vicolivivi.it and on the Pro Loco Supersano social media channels.
The evenings take place outdoors in the alleys of the historic center: comfortable footwear is recommended. It is best to arrive early to park in the areas on the outskirts of the village.
