A narrated walk through the streets of Rossana, in the Varaita Valley
Via dell'Arcimbaldo is much more than a simple walk: it is a traveling story between imagination and shared action designed for families with children aged 4 to 10. The event takes place in the historic center of Rossana, a small town in the Varaita Valley, in the province of Cuneo, in the heart of the alpine Piedmont. Here, a new thematic route transforms the village streets into an open-air book to be leafed through step by step.
The route winds through six stops, each marked by an illustrated panel and enriched with interactive moments. As they walk, families follow the adventures of Arcimbaldo di Abzac and young Olivetta, the protagonists of a tale that weaves together local history, fantasy, and active participation. It is an original way to discover the village's identity and heritage, putting the little ones at the center of the experience.
Via dell'Arcimbaldo inaugurates the new route of the "Borghi parlanti" project, funded by the European Union as part of NextGenerationEU and created in collaboration between the Unione Montana Valle Varaita and local municipalities. The initiative aims to enhance small alpine villages through storytelling, making the discovery of their history accessible and fun.
The experience is conceived and led by La Fabbrica dei Suoni, a social cooperative active between Venasca and Boves, specializing in educational and cultural paths related to sound and storytelling, in collaboration with the Unione Montana Valle Varaita. Throughout the year, the cooperative offers interactive museums, summer camps, and activities for families in the Cuneo area.
An ideal event for those looking for a slow, open-air, child-friendly activity in one of the most authentic villages in the Cuneo valleys.
