The accordion resonates in Piazza della Chiesa, in the heart of the Cembra Valley
Every summer, the Valli dell'Avisio Accordion Festival transforms the squares of Trentino into open-air stages dedicated to an instrument deeply rooted in Alpine culture. Among the many stops on this touring festival is Lisignago, a hamlet of the municipality of Cembra Lisignago: the concert is held in Piazza della Chiesa, in the heart of the village, overlooking the terraced vineyards of the Cembra Valley.
The festival is organized by the Pro Loco of Castello-Molina di Fiemme, in collaboration with local municipal administrations, Pro Loco associations, and cultural institutes. Molina di Fiemme is historically considered the «home of the accordion», and this vocation gave birth to an event that now reaches much of the region: the Fiemme, Fassa, and Cembra valleys, the Piana Rotaliana, the Vigolana Plateau, the Vallagarina, and the Mòcheni Valley. Every year, dozens of free concerts bring squares, parks, and cultural venues to life for ten days at the beginning of July.
The Lisignago stage features an evening concert with free admission, designed to bring together residents and visitors. The program highlights the versatility of the accordion, alternating between Alpine folk repertoire, waltzes, polkas, and light music. In case of bad weather, the concert moves to the former elementary school building in Lisignago. As per tradition, the festival does not forget those with mobility issues: one of the festival's events is dedicated to the residents of the Lisignago nursing home.
The municipality of Cembra Lisignago, in the province of Trento, was formed by the merger of the municipalities of Cembra and Lisignago and is located in the heart of the Cembra Valley, famous for its terraced vineyards supported by kilometers of dry-stone walls and for the production of mountain white wines, particularly Müller Thurgau. This landscape, shaped by porphyry and heroic viticulture, provides the ideal backdrop for an evening of folk music, where the accordion engages with the Alpine identity of the territory.
All concerts in the festival are completely free and designed for a diverse audience, from families to music enthusiasts. The goal stated by the organizers is to promote the accordion, showcase young talent, and create moments of connection among the Alpine communities of Trentino-Alto Adige.
The 12th edition of the Valli dell'Avisio Accordion Festival took place from July 1 to 10, 2026, with 24 free concerts held in 20 different locations across Trentino. The Cembra Lisignago stage took place on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 9:00 PM, in Piazza della Chiesa in the hamlet of Lisignago.
The star of the evening was accordionist Luca Zanetti, who presented a program dedicated to the versatility of the instrument, ranging from folk tradition to light music. In case of bad weather, the alternative venue was the former elementary school building. As part of the festival, the Lisignago nursing home also hosted one of the solidarity concerts dedicated to the residents of local care facilities. Like all events organized by the Pro Loco of Castello-Molina di Fiemme, the concert was free of charge.
