About Sinfonie di Natale

Sinfonie di Natale is a series of Christmas concerts and performances that brighten the Advent season in the villages of the Piana Rotaliana Königsberg, with Mezzolombardo serving as one of its beating hearts. From the local bands and associations of 'Note di Natale' to the early and organ music of 'Suoni Antichi Riscoperti', the festival guides audiences through churches, theaters, and civic halls across the Trentino region with a rich calendar of free events, running from late November until Epiphany.

Sinfonie di Natale: festive music in the Piana Rotaliana

When Advent arrives in the Piana Rotaliana Königsberg, the villages come alive with music. Sinfonie di Natale is the festival that brings together Christmas concerts and performances organized throughout the region, with Mezzolombardo (Province of Trento, Trentino-Alto Adige) being one of the most active locations. Promoted by the Consorzio Turistico Piana Rotaliana Königsberg ETS, the event unites under a single banner the many musical initiatives that animate the holidays, all with free admission.

Two spirits, one calendar

Sinfonie di Natale is structured into two complementary strands that tell the story of the region through music:

  • Note di Natale — the historic series where local bands and associations lead the public through pieces that recount the stories and traditions of the Piana. It is the most popular and community-focused side of the festival, with concerts held in churches, theaters, and civic halls across the towns.
  • Suoni Antichi Riscoperti — the early and organ music series created by Simone Vebber, which highlights the historic organs and sacred spaces of the region with concerts featuring Baroque and sacred repertoires. Each event is often accompanied by tastings of local wines and typical products from area producers.

The villages and venues

The festival is itinerant by nature: concerts take place in various municipalities of the Piana Rotaliana and the nearby Val di Cembra, including Mezzolombardo, Mezzocorona, San Michele all'Adige, Faedo, Lavis, Nave San Rocco, and Giovo. In Mezzolombardo, music resonates in venues such as the Franciscan Friars' Church, the Teatro San Pietro, and the Sala Civica, the town's cultural hub during the weeks of Advent.

A slow-paced Christmas

Designed for families and enthusiasts alike, Sinfonie di Natale offers an authentic way to experience the holidays in Trentino: no grand stages, but rather the intimate atmosphere of village churches and halls, where choirs, bands, orchestras, and soloists perform a repertoire ranging from traditional Christmas melodies to great early music. Free admission to all events makes the festival an open invitation for residents and visitors choosing the Piana Rotaliana for a stay amidst snow-dusted vineyards, Christmas markets, and culture.

Sinfonie di Natale — edition 2026

The 2026 edition of Sinfonie di Natale will bring the villages of the Piana Rotaliana Königsberg to life from November 20, 2026, to January 10, 2027. The festival returns with its two historic strands—Note di Natale, featuring local bands and associations, and Suoni Antichi Riscoperti, dedicated to early and organ music—across the churches, theaters, and civic halls of Mezzolombardo and other municipalities. The detailed program of individual concerts will be published by the Tourist Consortium in the weeks leading up to the event.
