About Walking School Day

The Valle Bronda Walking School Day is a non-competitive charity walk held every spring in Pagno, in the province of Cuneo. Open to families, athletes, and nature lovers, it offers 5, 7, and 10-kilometer routes through the valley's hills and orchards. With a symbolic registration fee, all proceeds are donated to the Valle Bronda school: an event where sport, solidarity, and community spirit walk hand-in-hand in the heart of Piedmont.

A walk for the Valle Bronda school

The Valle Bronda Walking School Day is a non-competitive running and walking event held in Pagno, a small town in the Province of Cuneo, in the heart of Piedmont. Born as a solidarity initiative, the walk combines a passion for nature and physical activity with the concrete goal of supporting the Valle Bronda school: all registration proceeds are donated to local school activities.

Routes through hills and orchards

The event offers three non-competitive routes of 5, 7, and 10 kilometers, designed to suit walkers of all levels and families with children. The trails wind through the valley's most picturesque scenery: cultivated hills, the famous orchards of Pagno, scenic roads towards Castellar and Brondello, and up to the chapel of San Ponzio, before returning to the main square. It is a stroll that allows you to discover an authentic corner of the Cottian Alps at the foot of Monviso at a leisurely pace.

An event for the whole family

The Walking School Day is a day designed for enjoying the outdoors together. The start is set in Piazza Mercato in Pagno, with a morning gathering and a final refreshment offered by the community. Among the latest additions is an initiative dedicated to four-legged friends: those participating with their dog receive a dedicated bib and kit. For those wishing to stay for lunch, covered picnic areas are available, and special menus are offered by local restaurants.

Community spirit

Behind the Walking School Day is the hard work of numerous local associations and volunteers: the Pro Loco of Pagno, the AIB and Ala Veja groups, and the Valle Bronda Civil Protection, with the support of the Municipality and local businesses in Pagno, Brondello, and Castellar. A collective effort that, edition after edition, strengthens the community spirit and turns a simple walk into a concrete gesture of solidarity towards the valley's new generations.
