The Vallarsa Tour, the cycling race of the Vallagarina valley

The Vallarsa Tour — officially the Giro della Vallarsa — is a competitive road cycling race that transforms the municipality of Vallarsa, in the province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige), into a stage for cycling enthusiasts at the end of every summer. Established in 2023, the event has grown with each edition to become a highly anticipated fixture in the Vallagarina cycling calendar.

The race starts in the village of Arlanch and covers a route of approximately 35 kilometers with over 1,100 meters of elevation gain: figures that highlight the selective nature of a course designed to test the endurance and technique of the riders.

A route between Mount Pasubio and the Little Dolomites

The course is a true journey through the mountains that frame the valley. After departing from Arlanch, the first loop passes through the villages of Anghebeni, Foxi, Raossi, and Speccheri, tackles the demanding Postel wall, and then touches Riva di Vallarsa, Cumerlotti, Aste, and Sant'Anna before returning to Arlanch. A second loop repeats part of the circuit before heading towards Parrocchia, Piano, and Martini, with the final finish and celebration at the picturesque Laghetto dei Poiani, at the foot of the Speccheri dam.

Steep climbs, technical descents, and small villages scattered along the valley provide the backdrop for a race that offers unforgettable views of the peaks of Mount Pasubio and the Little Dolomites. These are the same mountains that were the theater of the Great War, and cycling these roads also means crossing a landscape steeped in history.

A local landmark event

The event is organized by ASD Team Executive in collaboration with the Rovereto and Vallagarina Tourist Board, and is affiliated with the ACSI circuit. Beyond the sporting challenge, the Vallarsa Tour is an opportunity to discover an authentic corner of Trentino, where a passion for cycling intertwines with the hospitality of mountain communities and the pristine beauty of the Vallarsa valley.
