Astronomical observation evenings on Mount Novegno in Schio
On Mount Novegno, in the Busa Novegno area above Schio in the province of Vicenza, stands the Don Francesco Faccin Astronomical Observatory, managed by the Schio Astrophile Group APS. Far from the light pollution of the plains, it is a privileged place to look up at the starry sky.
With the Osservatorio Aperto initiative, the observatory opens to the public on some summer weekends for evenings dedicated to observing stars and planets. Members of the group guide visitors in using the telescopes and talk about the celestial bodies visible in the night sky, in an experience suitable for all ages.
The initiative, promoted by the Schio Astrophile Group APS with the patronage of the Municipality of Schio, has a strong educational focus: to bring astronomy closer to the public with simple language and appropriate tools. Admission to the evenings is free.
