Music, theatre, and culture in the village of Bovino, in the Daunian Mountains
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The V.B. Green Blue Festival is one of the most original cultural events of the summer in Bovino, a medieval village perched in the Daunian Mountains, in the province of Foggia, in the heart of northern Puglia. Recognized as one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in Italy," every August, Bovino becomes a sprawling stage where singer-songwriters, theatre, and major national voices engage with the landscape and the themes of "green" and "blue": nature, environment, and sustainability.
Founded in 2024—when the inaugural edition, held in mid-August, brought artists like Michele Placido, Peppe Barra, and Marco Gesualdi to Bovino—the festival has quickly established itself as a key fixture in the summer calendar of the Daunian Mountains. The artistic direction is led by Costantina Rampino and Rocco Pasquariello, who curate a program that blends singer-songwriter music, folk, world music, and social theatre.
The heart of the event is the Ducal Palace of Bovino with its hanging gardens, restored with PNRR funds and returned to the community in June 2025: a historic Italian-style garden on three levels, featuring statues, fountains, and ancient cisterns fed by a Roman aqueduct. Performances take place across these spaces and the alleys of the historic centre, in a perfect marriage of heritage, landscape, and live performance.
The V.B. Green Blue Festival is part of the broader Semi nel Vento (Seeds in the Wind) project, funded by the PNRR "Attractiveness of Villages" initiative, which aims to make Bovino a sustainable tourist destination. The festival coexists with other summer events in Bovino, such as the Vibinum Music Fest and the Festival Letture d'Agosto, creating a mosaic of events that enliven the village throughout August.
Dates and the program for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced by the organizers. Meanwhile, the Municipality of Bovino continues the "Bovino Borgo Green" path as part of the Semi nel Vento project. For updates, it is recommended to follow the official channels of the Municipality of Bovino and the local Pro Loco.
The V.B. Green Blue Festival will return to Bovino, a village in the Daunian Mountains in the province of Foggia, for its new summer edition. At the moment, the organizers have not yet announced the dates or the program for 2026. The festival, directed by Costantina Rampino and Rocco Pasquariello, usually offers a lineup of singer-songwriter music, world music, and theatre in the spaces of the Ducal Palace and its hanging gardens. This page will be updated as soon as the program is published.
Bovino is located in the Daunian Mountains, in the province of Foggia. By car, it can be reached from the A16 Naples-Canosa motorway (Candela exit) or the A14 (Foggia exit), continuing along the SS90 delle Puglie road. The Bovino train station is located in the valley, connected to the village by bus services.
The festival traditionally takes place in August. The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced.
The historic centre is characterized by narrow alleys and staircases: comfortable shoes are recommended. On summer evenings, a light jacket may be useful due to the cool air in the Daunian Mountains.
