Up and Down the Hills of Vigliano is the road race held in Vigliano Biellese, a town in the province of Biella, Piedmont, at the foot of the Biellese Prealps. The event attracts runners and road racing enthusiasts to an eagerly awaited gathering that transforms the town streets into an engaging and picturesque race course.

The Course

The route covers approximately 7 kilometers, winding through the town center and the characteristic rolling hills surrounding Vigliano Biellese. As the name suggests, the course alternates flat sections with climbs and descents, testing the participants' legs while offering glimpses of the Biellese hilly landscape. It is an accessible distance, suitable for both experienced runners and those looking for a casual, amateur-friendly race.

Atmosphere and Enthusiasm

The race is typically held in the early evening, when temperatures are milder and the town atmosphere becomes particularly festive. In recent editions, over seventy runners have gathered at the starting line, with palpable enthusiasm throughout the course. At the end of the race, the event concludes with an awards ceremony for the participants and a convivial refreshment break, providing an opportunity to gather and discuss the race.

The event is organized by the board of the Pro Loco of Vigliano Biellese, with the valuable technical support of Podistica Vigliano. The partnership between the association that enlivens town life and the local running club ensures a well-organized event rooted in the territory, serving as a genuine expression of the Vigliano community.
