The festival of the Friulian hills

There is a special way of telling the story of the Friulian hills, made of authentic flavours, skilled hands, and a great sense of community: it's called Un Biel Vivi, 'a beautiful life' in the Friulian language, and it's the event that every spring brings together the Pro Loco of the Friulian hills in a travelling festival that changes host town every year. In 2026, for its 27th edition, it is Flaibano that welcomes the event, with the motto that sums up its spirit: 'The hills promote quality'.

A village of Pro Loco and flavours

The heart of the festival is the Pro Loco Village, where each association brings its own excellences to the table: San Daniele ham, Lago beef, Ragogna vegetables, Montegnacco grilled meat, Villanova tagliatelle, Ciconicco rabbit. A gastronomic journey through the hillside towns, accompanied by local wines and craft beers, set up in the squares and streets of Flaibano's historic centre.

Excursions, culture, and entertainment

Alongside the stands, the programme includes walking and cycling excursions, craft and artist markets, vintage car rallies, helicopter rides, organised walks with FIASP, musical performances, and folk groups. There are also cultural moments, such as the gastronomic conference dedicated to frico and a tribute to the poet Celso Cescutti, a figure linked to the Flaibano area.

I give you my time

Un Biel Vivi is not just about food: it's also an opportunity for solidarity and civic engagement. The initiative 'Ti regalo il mio tempo' (I give you my time) brings together voluntary organisations and social promotion associations, highlighting the value of collective participation. A festival that celebrates, in addition to flavours, the genuine way of life of the Friulian hills, supported by the Municipalities of the Friulian hills.
