The charity fashion show in Villata featuring vintage wedding dresses to support UNICEF
In the heart of Villata, in the Vercelli province and the rice-growing region of Piedmont, the "Tutti per Villata - Wedding Dress Fashion Show" transforms Largo Marconi into an open-air runway. The absolute stars are the wedding dresses actually worn by the town's women between 1952 and 2010: nearly sixty years of fashion, fabrics, and memories parading before the community, bringing to light the faces, families, and moments that have shaped the village's history.
Every dress on display is much more than a piece of tailoring: it is a fragment of a life, a wedding celebrated in the village, and a bygone era. The show thus becomes a journey through the collective memory of Villata, where generations meet and the younger ones discover the wedding traditions of their grandmothers and great-grandmothers. It is an appointment that weaves a love for costume and fashion with the strong sense of belonging typical of the small towns in the Vercelli plains.
"Tutti per Villata" is not just about nostalgia and elegance: it is, above all, a charity event. The manifestation is organized in collaboration with the UNICEF Pigotta Friends, the group of volunteers who hand-stitch the famous Pigotte, the rag dolls that serve as the symbol of the UNICEF campaign for children around the world. During the event, it is possible to support the association and contribute to their charitable activities, in an initiative that links Villata to major international humanitarian causes.
The event is promoted by the Municipality of Villata with the involvement of numerous local entities: the Carnival Committee, the SOMS, the AIDO, and the Civic Library. While the wedding dresses parade in Largo Marconi, the Civic Library in Piazza Gastaldi offers activities dedicated to children, ensuring the day engages families of all ages. It is the image of a community that networks and brings together associations, volunteers, and institutions around a common goal.
An afternoon that demonstrates how even a small town in the Vercelli area can unite culture, tradition, and solidarity into a single, engaging day of celebration.
On Sunday, June 14, 2026, Villata hosts a new edition of "Tutti per Villata - Wedding Dress Fashion Show", organized by the Municipality together with the UNICEF Pigotta Friends, the Carnival Committee, the SOMS, the AIDO, and the Civic Library. In Largo Marconi, the wedding dresses worn by the women of the village between 1952 and 2010 will be on display, while the Civic Library in Piazza Gastaldi simultaneously proposes reading activities and workshops for children. A day that combines fashion, memory, and solidarity in favor of UNICEF.
Throughout the day, it is possible to support UNICEF by purchasing the Pigotte dolls handmade by the volunteers. The detailed program is published by the Municipality of Villata on its official channels.
The fashion show takes place in Largo Marconi, in the center of Villata (VC). Children's activities are held at the Civic Library, in Piazza Gastaldi, 13010 Villata.
