A round of the regional motocross championship at the Chiusdino Park track
In the heart of the Val di Merse, a few kilometers from the village of Chiusdino (Province of Siena, Tuscany), the Chiusdino Motocross Park has long been a landmark for regional and national off-road racing. The track, located in the Casetta Cangini area, is managed by former riders Alessandro Colonna and Marco Anselmi, who meticulously maintain a circuit of approximately 1,850 meters. Characterized by continuous elevation changes and compact clay soil, it is considered one of the most technical and spectacular tracks in the Tuscan landscape.
Each season, the facility hosts a round of the Tuscan-Umbrian Motocross Championship, a sporting event organized by the Moto Club Chiusdino Motocross Park ASD under the aegis of the Italian Motorcycling Federation (FMI) and its Tuscany Regional Committee. The race is valid for both the Tuscan and Umbrian regional championships, attracting riders from all over central Italy and transforming the small Sienese town into the capital of Tuscan motocross for a Sunday.
All the main regional motocross categories take to the track at Chiusdino Park:
A broad and varied grid with over a hundred registered riders, ranging from young minicross newcomers to specialists in the top-tier classes.
Alongside the competition, days at Chiusdino Park often feature initiatives for children, such as the FMI First Steps project, designed to introduce children aged 6 to 12 to motocross through theory lessons, technical gear fitting, and practical riding sessions. Admission for the public is free: a great opportunity to experience the paddock atmosphere up close and follow the action from the natural grandstands surrounding the track.
The motocross track is located in Chiusdino, in the picturesque Sienese countryside, a short distance from the famous Abbey of San Galgano. The race day follows the standard FMI schedule: free practice and timed qualifying in the morning, followed by official heats and awards ceremonies in the afternoon.
The Chiusdino Motocross Park opened the regional season by hosting the second round of the Tuscan-Umbrian Motocross Championship on Sunday, March 29, 2026. It was an intense yet well-managed day, with a compact and uniform surface that allowed riders to showcase their best technique and speed.
All regional categories were at the starting line: MX1 and MX2 in the Elite, Fast, Expert, and Rider classes, 125 Junior and Senior, Challenge, Women's, Veteran, and the 85 and 65 minicross classes. The high number of entries confirmed the Sienese track's leading role in the central Italian off-road scene.
Race categories: MX1 and MX2 (Elite, Fast, Expert, Rider), 125 Junior and Senior, Challenge, Women's, Veteran, Minicross 85 (Junior and Senior), Minicross 65 (Cadets and Beginners).
