Follomix: Popular comics take center stage in Follonica
Launched in 2025, Follomix is a festival dedicated to comics and collectibles held in Follonica, a coastal city in the Province of Grosseto, in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma. The event has chosen the evocative Fonderia 1 as its home, a historic building within the Ex-Ilva Complex overlooking Via Massetana: over 2,000 square meters of industrial archaeology that provide the backdrop for exhibitions, debates, and a large collectors' market.
A celebration of the Ninth Art
The heart of Follomix is popular Italian comics, explored through their various forms: from historic titles to manga, and from auteur comics to scientific outreach through images. The fair brings together dozens of exhibitors specializing in collectible comics, trading cards, stickers, action figures, memorabilia, and vinyl records, alongside exhibitions of original artwork and meetings with designers, writers, curators, and publishers from the Italian scene.
Special attention is paid to cross-media and the dialogue between comics, science, and culture: the first edition hosted the Comics & Science section, promoted by the CNR, with workshops dedicated to children. It is no coincidence that after its debut, the Follomix Cultural Association was invited to the Comics & Science press conference in Lucca, a recognition of the value achieved in such a short time.
Engaging the youth
The organizers' stated goal is to create a festival capable of speaking not only to comics and collectibles enthusiasts but also to young people, stimulating creativity and imagination through the language of drawing. For this reason, alongside the market, there is space for exhibitions, children's readings, workshops, and meetings with key figures in the industry.

Follomix — edition 2026
After the 2025 debut which closed with over 4,300 visitors, Follomix returns to Follonica for its second edition, scheduled from Friday, September 18th to Sunday, September 20th, 2026, in the spaces of Fonderia 1, in the Ex-Ilva Complex. The announcement of the dates was made on April 19, 2026, as part of the Immersioni Culturali initiative.
For 2026, the festival will again revolve around popular comics, exhibitions of original artwork, and the large collectors' market, featuring vintage comics, stickers, action figures, and vinyl records. The focus on the cross-media nature of the Ninth Art and the collaboration with ANAFI and Fumetti e dintorni are confirmed. Admission will be free.

How to get there
Fonderia 1 is located in the Ex-Ilva Complex, on Via Roma in Follonica (GR). By train: Follonica station is on the Rome–Genoa Tyrrhenian line, just a few minutes from the city center and the venue. By car: from the SS1 Aurelia, take the Follonica exit.
Hours and admission
Admission is free. The opening hours for the previous edition were from 9:30 AM to 7:30 PM. It is recommended to check the updated hours on the official website.
