About Turin Book Fair

The Turin International Book Fair is Italy's premier event dedicated to books and reading. Every spring, the Lingotto Fiere venue welcomes hundreds of thousands of readers, featuring publishing stands, book launches, and meetings with authors, Nobel laureates, and global cultural figures. These five days of events transform the Piedmontese capital into Italy's cultural hub, where the publishing world meets the public in a unique, engaging atmosphere.

The beating heart of Italian publishing

The Turin International Book Fair is the largest and most prestigious publishing fair in Italy, as well as one of the most significant in Europe. Since 1988, the capital of Piedmont, in the heart of the Municipality of Turin and the Metropolitan City, has hosted this annual event that draws hundreds of thousands of visitors from across the country and abroad. The venue is the Lingotto Fiere, located at Via Nizza 294, a historic Fiat industrial complex converted into an exhibition space.

A universe of books and ideas

The Book Fair is more than just a trade show: it is a grand celebration of reading that brings together publishers, writers, and readers. Throughout the pavilions, over twelve hundred publishing brands are represented, ranging from major houses to small independent presses, while dozens of rooms host presentations, masterclasses, debates, and workshops. The program, featuring over two thousand seven hundred events, spans from fiction to non-fiction, poetry to comics, and art to science, cinema, and current affairs.

International guests and Nobel laureates

What makes the Book Fair a world-class event is the quality of its guests: every edition brings Nobel laureates, internationally renowned writers, and key figures of contemporary cultural debate to Turin. Alongside beloved Italian authors, the public can hear voices from every continent in a dialogue that makes the Book Fair a true crossroads of cultures. Each year, a Guest Country and a Guest Region bring their literature and traditions to the center of the event.

The Salone Off: the whole city becomes a book

Parallel to the fair at Lingotto, the Salone Off takes events outside the pavilions, spreading them across hundreds of locations in Turin and the surrounding Piedmont region: libraries, schools, theaters, bookstores, prisons, and local neighborhoods. It is the way the Book Fair truly becomes part of the city, reaching readers of all ages and backgrounds.

An experience for everyone

From families with children to publishing professionals, students, and enthusiasts, the Book Fair offers paths tailored to every audience. The Bookstock Arena dedicated to younger readers, the Rights Centre for international professionals, and thematic sections curated by authoritative figures ensure that every visitor finds their space in what is, for five days a year, Italy's true capital of culture.
