Trofeo Città di Ladispoli (Roberto Minisini Memorial)

A race that has become a staple in the Lazio region

The Trofeo Città di Ladispoli, also known as the Roberto Minisini Memorial, was established to honor a historic athlete from the Gruppo Millepiedi who represented the club in road races for years. In just a few editions, the event has grown from a local race into a national competition, attracting hundreds of athletes from across Italy to the town of Ladispoli, in the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, Lazio.

The course: ten kilometers for a personal best

The route is certified by the Italian Athletics Federation (FIDAL) and covers 10 kilometers of completely flat terrain, featuring only four turns and a single short, unpaved stretch of about 400 meters. The start and finish lines are located on Via Corrado Melone, in front of Parco di Palo, while the loop winds through some of the city's most characteristic neighborhoods and seaside residential areas. Two refreshment stations are available for competitors at the five-kilometer mark and at the finish line.

The combination of a perfectly flat course, few corners, and the mild late-winter climate has made the Trofeo one of the fastest races on the Lazio calendar; it is no coincidence that the women's course record was lowered by twenty seconds in the 2026 edition.

More than just competition: the fun run

Alongside the competitive race, a fun run of approximately 2.3 kilometers is offered. This non-competitive event is open to families, children, and casual runners alike. It is the perfect format for those not racing to still enjoy the sporting morning, turning Via Corrado Melone into a vibrant corridor of spectators and applause.

Ladispoli, between sea and archaeology

Running in Ladispoli means traversing a seaside town on the Roman coast known for its dark volcanic sand beaches and the nearby Castello Odescalchi di Palo Laziale, which overlooks the nature reserve of the same name. Just a few kilometers away lies the Etruscan archaeological site of Cerveteri, home to the Banditaccia Necropolis, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Trofeo takes place during a time when the city is also famous for another tradition, the Artichoke Festival (Sagra del Carciofo Romanesco), and many athletes take advantage of the trip for an off-season day by the sea.

Who can participate

The competitive race is reserved for FIDAL-registered athletes, members of affiliated sports promotion bodies, and Runcard holders, in accordance with the regulations published annually on the Gruppo Millepiedi website. The fun run, however, requires no registration. Entries close in the days leading up to the race, and as the numbers from recent editions show, a large portion of participants sign up in the final week when weather forecasts become reliable.
